Hi all.
I've just checked on eBay. The buyer has put in a return complaint and wants to return the item now. She is claiming the item is a fake and has been verified by a Boots store where she lives. She can verify as much as she likes because I still have one of the items left and I will have it verified by the Debenhams store where I got it from. I know for a fact the item I sent was a genuine one. It came out of a box for crying out loud. My only fear is this awful buyer might actually have a fake, switch it with the one I sent, and then make out I sent her the fake one if you know what I mean.
Is there any point in this going back and forth or will eBay/PayPal eventually side with her anyway? The fact she is accusing me of fraud has really gotten on my goat.0 -
PS. Just checked her feeback. She has left 3 negatives in the last year - 1 of which states an item was never received but the seller has put in the RM tracking code to say it was sent and received. Hmmmm.0

Does any of her previous feeback point to possible fruad?
It did occur to me she might try to swap the real one with her fake, but that sounds unlikely given the value of this free gift is hardly likely to be in Gucci handbag terriotry.
I enjoyed your "what a moose" comment but where I come from that refers to a person's visage not their behaviour.0 -
Also though I've had a few so called experts trying to suggest before they bought that my items were fake. I've told them where to go and blocked them . People put a question on some forum or other or try to research online and are convinced they have the definitive answer. I wasn't terribly patient with one to because I told her I was used to people trying to knock me down on price and what evidence did she have that the item wasn't genuine. She later came back and semi admitted she might be wrong but I'd blocked her by then as I don't like being called a fraud.0

In the meantime ask her for a photo.Hi all.

Some random sales assistant in Boots isn't likely to know the colour packaging of a product made for debenhams. It's not proof .shes not an expert.i had a similar issue once- the buyer was told to produce the proof and they couldn't. I think they opened a snad case though0

ROBATWORK - She does like to have a good old moan and say items are not as they should have been. Hopefully eBay will take this into consideration. I wanted to use much stronger language, but I think moose will suffice for now.
HOLLYDAYS - Unless I am forced to refund her, it's not going to happen.
I think I now know what the moose is thinking. The item she purchased was an anti aging serum. She seems to think I would have sent her out the anti aging INTENSIVE serum. She can fork right off if that's what she was thinking. I don't have any of those and the photo clearly shows the anti aging serum and not the other one.
Anyway, I will keep you all posted of the progress.........0 -

In that case it's hardly worth her bothering with fake/real as it's all snake oil. Or of course INTENSIVE snake oil.0 -
Just an update. Went to Debenhams and the member of staff at the counter confirmed all the items were genuine and nothing was fake. So if the buyer wants to play games, I have proof now.
PS. The free gift was only one per customer but I sweet talked the member of staff and said if I buy 2 expensive products, please may I get 2 free gifts and she actually agreed. To say thanks, I handed her over a posh box of chocolates (they were on offer and I stocked up for presents) so she definitely remembered me, hehe.
If the buyer insists it's a fake, will eBay side with her over me? I don't know how this works, so sorry for asking daft questions.
Thanks to all who have helped.0
