Possible its still running the initial windows setup and the OP switched it off which has upset it and now its scanning as well as trying to run the setup/1st run process?
Or as mentioned the screen size / refresh rate is not one the TV will display. I have a media centre PC and when i set it to 1920x1080 the display extends just outside the viewable area. The start icon is just visible, the X to close a browser window is just out of view on the top right.
Ive changed the refresh rates and it just makes it worse, And i want the screen size so just put up with it. The old cheapy ebuyer TV never had that problem.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

I've had this problem before, i fixed it by changing the mode on the TV. It was called something like Exact Scan, as by default it was on wide mode which stretches the image slightly which works fine for things like tv, but not so for computers0 -
As per cycrow - Not sure if it'll fix the problem but it's most commonly referred to as 'overscan', which should be switched off. It's a bit out of date. Definitely for a computer, bit also, I'd say, for other sources too, switch overscan off. This may confusingly be called switching exact scan, pixel by pixel, 1:1 ON. If you don't do this the TV will stretch the picture slightly, so that all those lovely HD pixels aren't as sharp as they should be, and critically, your Start bar will be stretched off the screen!0
