Hyundai on Watchdog Tonight
Hyundai is to be featured on Watchdog regarding issues with the ix35 and Hyundai's concept of customer service. It should make interesting viewing for anyone who either has a Hyundai or is considering one.

I was indeed considering one before I heard about their customer service and clutch problems with some models, so then decided against.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0

Haven't seen the program but my Hyundai Lantra has been the best car I've ever had. Never breaks down, never goes wrong (I do of course maintain it), still on original exhaust, steering and suspension, and all sensors after 15 years and 160K miles. Only cost me £1,000 when I bought it in 1997 with 88K on it.0

Yep but they look 5h1t :rotfl:All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0 -
My Hyundai I30 seems to have a issue in warm weather rather than the cold as mentioned on watchdog.
If it's been sitting in the heat in the work car park all day when I turn it in at 5.30 the revs bounce up and down around the 1 mark, as if I was tapping the accelerator. If I set off whilst it is doing this in first gear the car will bounce as if I'm riding the clutch Luke a leaner, but as soon as it's in second gear its fine and will be fine in firsts later on.
If it's a mild day though it won't do it.
Car is 1.6 diesel, 61 plate. I bought second hand 3 months ago at 33k, now on about 35.5k. Could it be supermarket fuel? I don't understand how it is or could b inferior? Surely diesel is diesel, especially given what watchdog said last night, they all have to have these additives in..0 -
Didnt understand how they can change to a "Heated" filter, does it connect to the electricity circuit?0

Sounds to me like an air lock in the fuel system caused by evaporation on a hot day - can you park in the shade?0 -

So what year is the car?0 -

That's one way of doing it. Another way that can be used is to pipe the common-rail low-pressure return (which is heated by virtue of being pressurised in the rail) back through a separate filter chamber to act as a heat-exchanger on its way back to the tank.0 -
Strikes me they designed the car with different configurations for different countries and somehow the UK got the wrong configuration, one without a fuel pre-heater.
What watchdog need to do now is investigate biofuel in ALL vehicle fuels and expose the fraud that is bio-ethanol, not only for giving reduced mpg, but also for damaging our vehicles fuel systems.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
