Scam website!!!!

Options
First of all, I never being a victim of scams until now and it's quite shocking experience I have to admit.

Over the weekend, I purchased pair of shoes over the net which was very well known British brand shoes and I was happy that they're selling my size despite it was out of stock in major stores.

After placed order, I haven't received order confirmation nor shipping notice and when I sent the customer contact team, no response.
There was no contact telephone number and only gmail address for that.

Now I contacted credit card company to find out they charged me excessive amount on that purchase and the vendor name is Garryplt-Shenzhen which is Chinese name.

gastronomicgrapefruit.com

This is the website and you will see how they look professional with all latest shoes from major UK brand.
I'm also reporting this to watchdog and relevant party.

Be aware of scam!!

Checking contact details - a UK phone number and a UK address - is something you should always do when considering a purchase over the internet.

At the time of ordering, one should always ask "how can I contact these people in the event of problems?"

Of course there are reputable sellers outside the UK, but if you don't even ask those questions before buying then you can expect problems.

Do you really think that website looks professional?

I would wait until you can confidently say the goods aren't coming, say 15 days, then speak again to your credit card company about a chargeback.

The design is ok but when you look at the About Us page they state:
In the UK, Gastronomicgrapefruit has a top four market share in womenswear and menswear it also has a top 10 share in childrenswear.

Ask 100 people to name the biggest companies in womenswear or menswear and do you think any would come up with Gastronomic Grapefruit? How many thousand people do you think you'd have to ask before one person did?

Looking for a UK number and address is ok but in my web development days I had local numbers in about 7 different countries thanks to the wonders of VOIP they all rang through to my office phone in the UK. Similarly there are plenty of forwarding addresses you can use for mail.

There are many things wrong with the site, there are no terms, the legal entity you are contracting with isnt identified, its a gmail email address, domain is registered in the usa to a chinese name etc
  • Thanks for the tip and I don't believe I should wait for 15days.
They charged me excessive amount of money which was greater than actual purchase and I haven't received order confirmation and receipt for that.

I reported this to the Police Fraud line and blocked my credit card.
When I googled below their customer service email address, found it from various fashion related website which I'm sure they're operating actively.

    http://whois.domaintools.com/gastronomicgrapefruit.com

The name behind the domain is associated with 248 other domains so very possible they have multiple sites

That said, legitimate businesses can have a lot of domain names due to protective registrations of other TLDs, common miss spellings etc, for example Direct Line Group appear to have 242 domains

    ...I don't believe I should wait for 15days.
Then don't wait for 15 days. Your choice.

Just be prepared for your card issuer to reply "you have to wait 15 days before you can do a chargeback for non-delivery".

    Good luck.

If someone took my hard earned money more than I supposed to pay without my knowledge and not answering my contacts, then why should I bear obvious scammer?

For your reference, no, you don't need to wait for 15days for whatever the goods actually do not exist to get payback what so ever.

My credit card company put this transaction on hold which is not my reliability to pay the amount now hence they won't charge this as confirmed today. Also they'll send me the declaration form which I need to sign and send back along with email evidence of my efforts to contact this scammer.

I already report to the police fraud line and they also advised that if credit card company charge me for this transaction, then they'll get involved to ensure that I am not charged. I'll get further notice on progress meantime.

So if a real THIEF stole money from your pocket , would you calmly wait for 15days?
    Online thief is THIEF.

Can you clarify what you mean? I'm not 'getting' or understanding what you are trying to say.

Ah... I didn't realise you had evidence that the goods didn't exist.

Of course with that proof, you may well be able to convince your card issuer to move a little quicker.

As I said earlier... good luck.

I have today bought a pair of shoes from website - transport debate.co.uk. Usually I am really savvy with websites but I was so pleased that I found my size, I went ahead and bought them. It was only afterwards that I realised that it all looked 'wrong'. Have contacted my card company who have said that it is too early to do anything yet. Weird that the website address is called transport debate.co.uk and the site logo is shoe-discount. I feel quite certain that everything looks wrong. Anyone had any dealings with them? I can find not a trace of anything online regarding reviews or anything else.
