You've been given wrong information emmeey. New claimants to ESA remain on the assessment rate until they have been through the medical assessment irrespective of how long that takes. The only exception to that is anybody who is terminally with an expectation of less than 6 months to live.
What has been happening is that re-assessments haven't been done so people who were told they were in a group for 6, 12 months, or whatever, are staying in the group longer.

2nd April to 4th July is 13 weeks. You have been assessed based on the ESA50 you returned, so nothing out of the ordinary there.

Crikey, merlin that's good, I sent my esa50 back for 26th feb as requested and still heard nowt! I've been on ESA in support group for 3 years and incapacity benefit before that.
  • Shopaholic2 we posted my reassessment form off 2013 I think it was. Only just had the reassessment last month. A week later I got a letter saying I was in the support group. Wanted to cry with relief

Soo they rang me back, and I need to send a 'fit note' from my gp! tho she was confused as I've never had a ob to have a sick note from...

Also DWP txt me to say ESA has been awarded and to await confirming letter, what does that mean? Do I have it without an assessment, or is this fr the assessment rate

You are now receiving ESA at the assessment rate as long as you provide a medical certificate from your GP. I don't understand the first sentence of your previous post. When you say 'ob' do you mean 'job'? because you don't need to have a job to get a certificate from your GP.

Yep sorry I did mean job :) Yes its because the DWP woman made it sound like a I needed the note as to why I can't do my current job! But my GP is doing a letter anyway for 2 months, so will see what happens then.

So i'll be on the assessment rate until they assess me, which could awhile? I've heard of a few people just going straight into group with no assessment
