I would suggest, as you have Intel+Radeon graphics :-
1. download http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp50501-51000/sp50640.exe
(this has both driver sets included)
2. manually uninstall CCC (Catalyst Control) from Add/Remove programs
3. restart
4. Install sp50640 previously downloaded
5. restart (and cross fingers)If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -
Is CCC the same as ATI catalyst Install manager as the HP website just told me to download that? Other than that I don't have a CCC.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

"The graphics are missing large parts of the screen most days now"
What do you mean by this? Are there black areas on your screen?
If so, that's a hardware issue - probably the screen. Connect the laptop to a TV via a Blue VGA cable, or with an HDMI cable and see if the problem is the same there.
The software error you mentioned is comment - usually that manifests with a full screen black out for 5 seconds, followed by a return to normal with a error message on the screen. Rolling back to an OLDER drive can help with that
Also, you could be overheating - clean the fan vents out.0 -
Just a quick update. The lines across the screen have disappeared although if I see a video link sometimes it is all pixelated so I cannot see the graphics. Sometimes on the desktop I am still getting a few downward black lines usually 2 together and about 5 sets on the desktop.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

Hook it up to a TV or other monitor and see if the issue goes away.0
