Does anyone else remember this advertising slogan from TSB when they split from Lloyds?
They claimed TSB isn’t like other big banks, and that their 631 High Street branches were a vital part in delivering that.
They even said they were potentially going to open another 30 branches this year. I think they have managed to open one in Enfield so far.
Even the Spanish takeover was not supposed to alter their mission.
But today I receive notice that in 3 months time, they are now going to close our High Street branch.
They say I can continue to bank through their mobile app, via my phone or tablet, as well as on my desktop 24 hours a day.
(Well I suppose I can't expect anything more local than those, can I?)0 -
So presumably you still qualify for the bonus if you switch an account with no existing direct debits and then set up two new ones in the TSB account within 30 days?0

To get the 5% interest, do you have to transfer in £500 per month, or as a one off please?
Or is it just put in 2 grand and that's it?I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
I would like to open a joint account with TSB but not really sure if this will be possible as I already have two sole accounts with them and my wife has one.
It would be basically to maximise our savings with their 5% interest. I know the £100 incentive would not apply in our case as it is for online applications only and joint applications can only be made in a branch.
I couldn't find anything on their website and don't want to waste time getting all documents and going into a branch only to be told it won't be possible.
Would anyone know that? Thank you in anticipation.0 -
It says "maximum 2 accounts" in the TSB Plus Account Terms and Conditions. As you already have two, you cannot have another one, whether sole or joint.
There are other current accounts that pay interest, and also Regular Savings accounts.0 -

The latest Plus T&Cs actually stipulate 1 sole and 1 joint rather than max of 2.0
