YOUR buyers pulled out....you knew the chain was on hold.....so it is most likely to have been your own solicitor that told your sellers solicitor that you could no longer proceed as the chain was broken. I dont think the estate agent was responsible for letting you know or being straight with you. They are working for the sellers and have to do what they tell them.

You do feel a bit frustrated but the agent has done nothing wrong, I think you are expecting a bit much!

    Really,

Asking simply to be kept in the loop so we can make other arrangements. or to know where we stand when asking them, is asking a little to much? of course we feel frustrated. we still would like to purchase said house, and yes the vendor is perfectly entitled to put his house back on the market.

The thing is, we have been honest and upfront with them. we informed them within 10 minutes of us finding out our sale had fallen through. they called back 30 mins later to say the vendor is still happy to sell to us. yet a few days later the property is pulled from right move with no explanation.

i don't think I'm asking to much to be told truth when we ask. what is private eye mode on right move anyway?

You make a good point about solicitors. I am thinking his EA never told him about our chain and it was infact his solicitor who broke the news. Which would explain the house being put back on the market so suddenly.

Anyway, this is getting OT now. we will see what happens

I saw it how I see your post.

Unnecessary criticism that has no bearing on the situation. I really don't get the need to jump onto a thread and go out on the attack. It's not just me, happens all the time. People looking for genuine help only to be shot down.

So, Without knowing me or my situation you have managed to deduct that the EA is not the issue, but I am.

    Well done Sherlock

p.s You're not them are you? Sounds like them! :D

You made a mistake with the house number. This is a quite a significant mistake. A competent EA will clear this up.

They corrected your mistake politely and clearly.

Your estate agent is representing your interests. You are paying them.

Your vendor's estate agent is representing theirs. They are paying them.

Your expectations should be fashioned accordingly.

An EA is not an impartial arbiter. It exists solely to represent the interests of its client.

What did you expect to happen when your buyer pulled out? The chain broke, so of course your vendor will look for another buyer who is in a position to proceed.

You were no longer in a position to proceed as you had no buyer. That's the way it works.

    Ha ha... ok.

You know that I have already said that don't you. I agree with you. I have said already that I completely understand the house going back on the market. More than once I believe.

Regardless, you have all been a big help. Thank you :T

Now, the best bit is our buyers pulled out and now our seller wants to put their house back on the market. Which is fair enough as he has a deadline. Now you would think the EA would of contacted us and just be straight with us.

Did you expect the vendors to wait for you to find another buyer?

Reading the OP's replies, I'm starting to see the EA's side.

    That's what I mean.
Patronising me through email when I accidentally put my property number with the one they are selling and I quote

    "It's 7 ***** not 2 *****, just to clear that up"

How is that patronising? Of course the EA should correct his mistake. This is a house purchase, referring to the wrong address is a problem.

I feel sorry for the EA, I can only imagine how annoying it is to have to put up with people like this.

Yeah, must be so hard for them to put up with.

I'm sure the £2000+ fee on completion will soften the blow.
