    Hi

Yes, they finish up at the end of June but they go back around 19th August. It's another beautiful day here. It was terribly muggy before the thunderstorm. There was no sun, just loads of cloud but warm. We're not used to that here. Usually cloud means cold!

I went for the job interview this morning. I felt okay about it and wasn't overly nervous, although I did talk quite quickly which I do when I'm a bit nervous. Just waiting to hear back now. It doesn't really matter either way. I have a job and I'm not desperate to leave it (although today I could happily walk out and never come back :o:() so if it doesn't work out then I haven't lost anything.

Nothing financial to tell today. All is ticking along.

I probably won't be back on until Monday now (when I may or may not have to hand my notice in!) so have a great weekend :D

    BIG NEWS:

I got the job on Friday and have handed my notice in to my boss today:eek: I just felt it was the right move to make. I was really apprehensive about moving but as more than one person has pointed out to me, I have to step outside my comfort zone and challenge myself. Even my boss this morning said he has been worried about me and my future  He was absolutely brilliant about it. He was sure the time would come, he just didn't know when. He had thought that I was already looking for jobs but I truly wasn't. He has said if it doesn't work out I can go back. He is devastated that I am going but he is delighted for me. I cried :o:o and he filled up too but managed to hold it.

It has all happened so quickly. Three weeks ago I was plodding along with no intention of going anywhere else for the foreseeable.

Anyway, the most important part: the new employer is offering me £2.5k more than what I am on. That means approx. an extra £200 in my pocket per month. THAT will help towards the loan!! :D

So, financial news today: Was a spendy weekend :o All necessities but it was hard parting with the money.

    £4.67 to the loan today.

That's it! I think that's enough for one day though...;)

    Aww thank you everyone :)

It is a bit scary. One of my old colleagues who I am still in touch with said (and I quote) "Now you just have a month of wondering if you have done the right thing, shaking at the thought of joining a new office and constantly wondering if you can do the job even though you've done it for years. Get lots of headache pills ready and don't expect to sleep well for 6/7 weeks." She has just recently changed jobs again and I know she is kidding but I'm a wee bit scared I might end up feeling like that. At the moment I am thinking about how exciting it will be to join a new office, show them that they made the right choice in choosing me and helping them get the backlog up to date. Proving that I'm worthy of the job and the money they are paying me. I'm looking forward to chatting to people every day and being a bit more social than the hermit I am right now!

Things are good and I'm feeling good. I bought the book The Secret about a year ago but only started reading it a couple of months back. I have only read the first 2/3 chapters but it seems to have made a difference already! I try to make myself cheery all the time (not always easy and I have a lot of practice to do) and most of the time now things are going well for me. Interesting.

I have no financial news today. Oh, unless you count the fact that I will be due 3 days holiday by the end of the four week notice period and because I need to be in the office to make sure I have completed everything, I will get them in my salary instead :D I had the last week in July booked off but I really want to be in for hand over so I am taking the Monday and Tuesday and then working the rest of the week.

16 1/2 days in the office to go! Ooh, I just had a ripple of nerves

Thanks HarrysMummy. I'm sure it will be fine. At least, even although I don't know their accounts system, I know what I am doing when it comes to accounts and bookkeeping. The girl who is taking my job has no clue!

I'm struggling most with handing over my (yes, it is mine, I have built it up for 7.5 years and I might as well be married to it. I already feel like I have cheated on it and I am now divorcing it :() cashroom to someone I don't trust 100%. I trust her in general but she knows nothing of the work I do and I'm not liking handing it over.

Anyway, definitely exciting times to come! :)

Ooh, it's a bit cooler today. Feeling chilly :( Me likes warm.

Nothing major to tell today. Hopefully the equity buy out should be completed this week (or next at the latest) and then I can march on knowing that although I have a big debt, I own my home by myself.

    In financial news:

    £6.24 to the loan today.

I have realised that a payrise means less in tax credits so I will have to adjust the budget/savings accordingly.
