Yeap, the o/p's off the balance, felt disappointed as thought seeing it drop 100.00 wouldn't look like much, but in fact it has :) quite surprised

Paid off another little £14.47 as made another 2 bay sales last night, all ready to be posted this morning. Must get my finger out and list more.

Still walking to work and taking packed lunches, working a treat at the moment. Can't believe just how much I'm NOT spending :rotfl:

Phoning contractors today and see what they are up to, needing consent when it's under the required consent amount - terrible suspicious mind I have, ought to have been a lawyer :rotfl:

Right, have to get uniform ironed :o and out the door, double quick.

:rotfl: As if, my third bedroom is like an Aladdin's Cave  Anything I come across, I just put in there, waiting for me to get round to listing  :rotfl:

I see that you are putting away money into an ISA at the moment, is cash or stocks and shares?

Are you saving anything else for retirement, you do not want to become house rich but cash poor at retirement. Paid for house but no money in the bank or vice versa.

It would be great to know your overall position and longer term plan.

Overpaying is always a great idea, but comes at the sacrifice of something else.

Thanks for the concern, but I'm sure I have my head screwed on :rotfl: and certainly wouldn't commit to
anything I couldn't afford or cope with, I'm far too careful for that :D

Have plans in stages - Stage 1 of 3 - be MF :j Have another 2 up my sleeve, that will evolve as time goes by.

I've never needed to sacrifice anything (well nothing that I really either needed or wanted) to o/p my mortgage, most if not all is o/p'd with what I call "free money" I just think about what I need or want a bit longer than I used too, this way I have saved a bucket load :p

    What's your aim?

It does now sound as though you have your head screwed on, I was merely expressing concern rather than seeking to cause offence.

My aim is to become a millionaire, change my family tree and so I and my family never have to borrow another penny. To build wealth to live comfortably but also to have options and give generously.

We are working to become mortgage free in a few years, we currently pay for everything in cash and will continue to do so. Plus we invest to benefit from the 8th wonder of the world (compound interest) as described by Albert Einstein.

 I didn't before  Hope I've always have my head screwed on :rotfl: No offence taken.

    Good Luck with your aim.

I've never borrowed a penny or paid up anything in my life (hard to believe, I know:D) - apart from my mortgage - another reason I want to be MF as quick as possible. Realised at a very young age, why would you want to borrow to pay back more than you have to, so never have done. The little I do earn, I work hard for.

Sounds interesting, are you planning on starting a diary, I'm sure would make for compelling reading :)

Exactly, borrowing costs you more in the long run, short term gain long term pain!
I prefer the reverse of that.

I will start a diary soon and I have ideas for a couple other threads but I want to take the time to position them correctly to get the most engagement and usefulness for the other forum users (including myself).

It's always worth everyone reminding themselves of this, isn't it? In the past I've seen people planning to pay off the mortgage and then, maybe 10 years later, worry about pensions. Recently posters seem to have longer term plans which is great - who wants to work to be 70 before retiring :D? It's so important to have a plan 'in the round' even if you are prioritising the mortgage first.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)
