Is the only way out of a Vodafone contract suicide
I am at my whits end with this company.
I have been through the Ombudsman but they cant say I can exit the contract so I rejected the Ombudsmans findings to take legal action. Today was the 28th day to get a summary decision from Money Claim and I see "A bar was put in place for Vodafone Group Plc" I dont even know what that means.
They owe me July and August bills plus the cost of a sure signalk device and their defence is I rejected the refund even though they record all calls they have offered no evidence to this effect, probably because it didnt happen.
I was hoping they wouldnt defend the calim and today was the last day for them to enetr a defence. It says they entered a defence along with A bar was put in place for Vodafone Group Plc but I dont see any defence.
I truly am at my whits end with this now. Feel about to have a nervous breakdown.

I think (and I'm by no means a laywer) that you can't take further action at the time, I assume Vodafone have submitted a defence, or replied to court questions and they are being processed, it means you cannot go for a default judgement due to no response after 28 days, just need to await what was returned to the court by Vodafone.
Its NOT a hard stop, just stops someone requesting a summary judgement until the court can look at what is submitted when its close to the 28 day deadline.0 -
A bar normaly is a full network bar, has your phone gone off?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Also not the type serving alcohol, one to prance along in gymslips or one you duck under backwards near the floor!0

Almost correct. Death or bankruptcy are the only ways to void a contract without penalty. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

@macman
Even if they under their own terms fail to what they say they will do such as pay monies owed to me, abuse the Direct Debit Gaurantee Scheme and consistently flout any regulations that are applicable to that organiisation.0 -
Try it and see how successful you'd be.0

Today I had exactly the same. My health, mentally, emotionally and physically is in tatters and it's all down to Vodafone.
I actually heard myself say to them that I was ready to tear myself into pieces, this was whilst having a panic attack due to my crying causing my breathing to go.
All I wanted was for them to cancel my account with a clear balance and leave me alone. They continued to insist I owed them money for "line rental" for a contract I never renewed as they messed up the upgrade and a phone service that was cut off in Nov15. So basically they want me to pay them for the time they spent dragging their heals to deal with my complaint! How does that work?
Dramatic as it sounds, I asked myself the same question.....would it actually take a suicide to seriously get away from this Vodafone hell and have somebody sit up and listen to the hugely damaging impact they are having on an individuals life.
Never mind customers having to remember staff are humans.....I could swear Vodafone staff are trained to be desentised to fellow humans. I wouldn't treat an animal the way they've treated me.
But who will listen??? No one it seems.0 -

you don't renew a mobile phone contract, you either agree to a further minimum term, allow it to continue running without change or terminate it.
The network cutting you off for non payment doesn't terminate the line either.
When did you terminate the contract by giving 30 days notice?====0 -
Am I the only one who thinks a little more background and factual information would help?
Is this forum for people who want to vent or for people who want support/help?
"All I wanted was for them to cancel my account with a clear balance and leave me alone."
Give Vodafone the notice dictated by your contract and go your separate ways. Why would you do anything else, unless the details you have presented here are not entirely factual? The views expressed here are my own. I am not a Solicitor nor am I affiliated with any of the parties I mention. If you disagree with any of my comments please say in whatever way feels most natural to you.
