Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

Thank you to the lovely Piggers for last weeks delightful thread..

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

    Hi all, thanks Natty.

I have spent a bit of time doing a proper mealplan and a big online shop tonight. I have been getting into some really bad habits with cooking and shopping lately and I need to get back on track.

Car is in the garage tomorrow so I am not sure when I am going to get home from work - unless I get the bus and then walk 2 miles - which is an option I suppose. This is assuming that the car isnt fixed by lunchtime, but I am not holding out much hope.

Well I was up early so off to bed soon. Night all.

I'm in, but will probably be doing my own thing for the meantime. Tomorrow I have work, a stint at the CS and an appointment to declutter 6 months hair growth. Think that will be enough, somehow.

Hope everyone has a good week.

All went well at DDs exam just 6-8 weeks to wait for the results:eek:
Never got finished till 8pm which meant it was after 9 before we got home. Just going to direct DD to her bed and get the ironing board out.

Count me in natty, thanks for the list! And thanks for the lists last week pigpen! I lost my way towards the end of the week but that was more down to circumstance!

YL- well done on the stuff leaving the house and for filling your purse with some extra pennies!
Missy moo- I often feel like that. I have two days off work during the week where it is just me and my little man (aged 3). Those are the days I can make most impact. The weekends are a never ending battle!
Busy day again today. Church this morning, popped to see m and d and then had an 80th party in the afternoon. We all had toast for dinner as we were too full from the buffet. We got home about 5. I did manage to wash and dry a load of washing, tidy living room and kitchen, make a loaf of bread and wudupa.

Next week is busy again! Tomorrow I need to pick up a present on the way back from work. Will probably get back about 6pm and then it will be sorting out the kiddies and more school work.
Tuesday is my daddy's 60th party so we probably won't be back until 7pm. At 7pm I will have about 15 people over for dinner!! must keep the main rooms tidy and will shut the doors to the rest of the house!

    Catch up tomorrow night!

  • Hello again!

Thanks Pigpen and Natty for respective lists and PP, thank you, your 30 items a day have really transformed the flat into somewhere a bit more presentable. Might try and do the same this week, as well as Natty's lists.

Little bit of news - have started a new job, but unfortunately it's on the other side of town and is in the evenings, so by the time I get back home, I'se knackered! One good thing, however, I usually go straight to bed when I get in, and (touches wood) at present, am sleeping better than I have done for a long time and waking up the following morning feeling as if I've had a good night. Here's hoping it stays that way!

Right, early start tomorrow, so good night all
