Im so upset - I went up the loft last night to get my silver cross pram down and give it a clean up for my baby grandson to use when they visit. We struggle and struggle and finally manage to get it through the loft opening, it was like getting a square peg into a round hole- unwrapped it, it needs a clean and the chrome need a bit of attention and the brake cable needs replacing which I knew, but all in all after being there 30years not too bad .....but there are only 3 wheels:eek::eek: I went back up the loft and spent another hour on my hands and knee searching amongst the cobwebs, dust and rubbish but no wheel:eek::eek:
What to do ???
if I buy 1 wheel it will look odd so really I would need a pair and the brake cable, that's virtually £100. I would probably get that back if I was to sell it later, but the biggest thing I don't even know if DS will want me to use it when they visit. If I ask him before they visit it will be a definite NO- but there is so much sentimental value to it - im in a dilemma what to do!!
Unless anyone happens to have a 14inch wheel rolling about:)0 -

hillbern...there are a few on ebay...some seem quite expensive but there is a set that are collection only that seem to have a starting bid of £6.99...they havent put the sizes in inches but I think they look like a set of 2 twelve and 2 14 inch wheels...
I think its a lovely idea to have an heirloom pram, but thats me,but I can also imagine lots of new mums today wanting something more portable...
its a lovely thing for a nanna to do...and as such you should indulge your desire even if its only when your grandchildren visit.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Oh what a shame ....but I would go for getting it refurbed as they are such beautiful prams ...I had one for DS nearly 50years ago and cannot for the life of me remember what happened to it:( but to replace now we are talking in excess of £1,500:eek:and after seeing the little Princess Charlotte in her coach built pram at her Christening its a no brainer .....just Nannylala's opinion0 -
Morning everyone. Just been to the Middlesbrough Food bank this morning with 150 packets of walkers, udis, Toblerone, chocolates, biscuits, shampoo, facewipes, tissues, deodorant etc etc The place was so busy and they were showing me other donations - someone had took in a load of 10p filler sweets, nappies, tinned food, washing powder etc.Not sure if all food banks are the same, but they said even though the walkers have short expiry dates, they will contact other agency's such as hostels and homeless charities to offer anything that they can't use. Xxx
A house divided against itself cannot stand - I love this proverb, and thanks to my lovely family for making me realise that we can get through most things together0 -

Anyone got any idea of what the Butter pudding my mum used to have instead of Yorkshires when I was a child was, It was crispy on top and sort of crumbly inside and really moreish when it soaked the gravy up, I have tried Googling but the internet doesn't seem to know what I mean, lol!"Sealed Pot challenge" member No. 138

Good morning rose isn't it great when things all start coming together:Thow long is it now until the Wedding?
Its seven weeks on Friday. Yes these last few days its all coming together and just now a really good chef my sis knows has confirmed hes coming to help on the day. He's really professional and have known and worked with him a lot. So pleased. The other chef is a young man who works at Babington House ( where all the celebs get married). Although my sis is a chef she is mainly doing organising and pre prep.
Remembering the 7/7 people I was in Barcelona working that dau and remember the TV coverage and how worried I was until I spoke to DS who lives in London and one of those stops was his.
