Beggars belief, where were the financial managers ?
If the LA's didn't take such foolish loans, those services would not need to be charity funded...
If the LA were held to account, in 5 years they would be the next PPI.
Totally agree.
Charities are often relied on to provide services at a reduced rate compared to their true worth. Often a lot is expected of front line workers only on the minimum wage it is shocking what is expected sometimes.0 -
Not good is it.
Mr TS has been personally at the front of council cuts that have filtered down to the charity he works for when he got made partially redundant couple of years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if these LOBOs are to blame.
Councils put out to tender so much nowadays for a better price to cut costs which is where sometimes charities step in for essential services that councils can no longer afford to pay in house for and then eventually funding for these are also cut completely. Well that's the way I see it.

Oh bless ILTS, it did make me smile but I collect those figures and not sure how I would feel if anyone drew a face on one of mine.
Luckily they are still out of Teeny's reach when she visits for the moment.
They are very porous too so don't think you will be able to wash it off, I got some pollen on one of mine and it stained it.0 -

I know, I think I said around the time Mr TS got made partially redundant (down to half a week) that we wouldn't have been able to have managed without this place. I was still looking after mum at the time.
He used to work with some health professionals and they were shocked that for the level of his role how little he got paid compared to them. Thankfully his posts have always been above the minimum wage but he has people under him at the moment who earn no more than that due to the funding given.0 -

A woman after my own heart. I used to work with budgets of millions (not my own I hasten to add) but somehow dealing with these small amounts brings its own special kind of satisfaction0
