Good afternoon all, RL is taking over at the mo

It started again this morning with a call this morning at 8 when I was even more brain dead than usual from a company which turned out to be a salvage company. They wanted to collect eldest sons car on Monday - I said its not even been accessed by the garage yet.

So I rang Admiral claims department who were supposed to ring this morning and hadnt and after some discussion they agreed to organise for the repair garage to access it.
The garage were supposed to ring back in 2 hours but didnt - so 3 phone calls later to the repair centre they eventually agreed to eldest son bringing it in - I think we would still be waiting now if he had not hassled them. Fortunately his car was drivable and the repair place is just off the bypass so the minimum of steering needed.

He still does not know when it will be accessed - on the phone he was told it was only a 20 min job. They are supposed to be bringing a courtesy car here at 4 - so I expect we will be on the phone again chasing this up. Hopefully there will be petrol in this car as we are miles from any garage.
I assume that is if they do access it in the meantime and declare his car a total - more because of its age than any damage he has done to it. In which case no courtesy car

In the meantime I have organised temp insurance for eldest son so he can drive my car for the next week so he can at least get back to base and work - he is off again on Monday.

We have started some tentative research re replacement cars if the worst has happened - if this is not going to be straightforward we have suggested he might need to look just at a little run around for the time being as he will be out of the country for 2 months from the end of August.

Enterprise the car hire place have just rung here and I've updated them, they are going to hassle the car repair place and then update son on what happens next

    :(

someone asked if anyone had talked to asda about apg being over the limit

so been on the phone to asda head office about being told over the limit on apg on the 2nd . on an account that i use for shops aimed at supermarkets we dont have round here, not a glitchy account and was told it was because the shop was from june and it is the date you do the shop that counts not when you claim.. not sure if this is entirely true but thought I would pass it on xxx

Thanks for that info. Rhosynbach, I take it this means that if you do your first shop on say the 7th of the month, you cannot claim if near the limit until the 7th or 8th of the next month. (I was £10 short of the limit by the way) I have never been that near before but will be more careful in future.

Have just checked my Asda account. APGs for the HD shop I did on Wednesday are showing, but not those from yesterday's CC yet. I don't know when they arrived as I only looked after reading Wheres My Cashback's post. Definitely lots of changes going on.

From my limited experience with courtesy cars, they should have a decent amount of fuel in them (half or full tank)... you will get charged if the level hasn't been topped back up to the same as you received it, and probably at a higher rate that the local petrol station.

After your mhoc kinda day, I would photograph the fuel level and milage just as a precaution (and check paperwork matches) - but i'm paranoid like that :rotfl:
