I think certainly in our area they seem to be having longer summer holidays and shorter ones elsewhere in the year...christmas seems very short this year as its back to school on the 4th Jan

 oh my... How do you keep them entertained for that long???

Hello - I think you are probably correct, however when I was reading the small print I also saw mention that the competition could be closed early in the event of certain circumstances - I am not sure I would chance claiming after the closing date - but obviously your decision.

Thanks for your advice, I'm away 11-18th so I am going to claim for quite a few before I go away and leave some until I'm back and if they disapear I'll just take it on the chin. I'm already spending too much time on this rather than RL (it just brings me so much joy!)

Another interesting point I found in the full terms was Section 12 c - the ability to use the PayPal redemption option with online retailers - hence we can use sada c&c orders as long as we remember the packet of crisps:
    c) Walkers Lunch Website Upload route (participating online retailers):
    • If choosing this route, the winner must have a PayPal account registered to the email address entered by the winner at the time of selecting this claim route.
    • Once the website upload claim route has been chosen and prior to making the online Qualifying Purchase, the winner will be required to select one of the following participating online shopping retailers: Sainsbury's, ASDA, Ocado, or Tesco.

The interesting element is that in practice the second bullet point is incorrect - as when you select this route you get the following email instructions:
Remember, in order to claim your £4.00, your lunch must be purchased from a participating retailer and include the following items:
    1. A packet of Walkers crisps
    2. Any food item (plus a soft drink if you wish)
Once you have purchased your lunch, come back to the Walkers website to upload an in-focus and clear image of your till receipt or online shopping delivery receipt* to start the receipt validation process. If your receipt is long, don't worry, you can upload a maximum of 4 .jpg or .png images (up to 10MB).
You have until XX XX to claim your lunch, so make sure you do it soon!
*A delivery receipt, given on delivery of your online shopping is required. Email order confirmations cannot be accepted.

looking at the calendar that's a full 8 - or is it 9 weeks

I don't think I could have coped if mine were off that long

    Wish me luck.....

Coupled with the fact that there was study leave after half term for the AS exams followed by only attending school for the actual exam it does feel as if one of them has been off since early May...

They are now 13 and 17 so mostly they dont need the entertaining of small ones...but in essence its a summer holiday for us as a family,a scout camp and this year we have the luxury of a foreign camp away with another activity that they do.

Ive just had a look on our local county council list re the school hol dates and D day in this county is July 22nd - this explains why the cattery is booked solid for the following 2 weeks  so I cant go anywhere even if I wanted to.

(and it also makes me wonder if I should give the cattery my possible dates for August 2016 ...)

The due back date is September 1st - I wonder how many will want to do family holidays in that week though ...

so a straight 6 weeks around here.

It also says for 2016/2017 schools can decide on their own holidays as long as they stick to some guidelines

Some schools will be using teaching training/inset days at either end of the holiday so worth double checking school websites if you need to know - some schools technically finish on 22nd but have teacher training on 20, 21st July (so finish on 17th). Others return on 1st September but then have 1st and 2nd September as teacher training (and others don't go back until 8th). It is a military operation knowing when our team have school holidays as a number do not coincide even within the same education authority.

Overall, I believe they all have the same number of days in school, it is just how the schools schedule their holidays and training days that makes the big difference.

    Afternoon all.

Very muggy here.We have had a couple of showers but not enough to cool anything down.

I had crisp envy so told myself that if this womble produced an apg I would buy 5 packets in a local shop that had them reduced to 35p.The womble was for £3.68 so I duly bought 5 packets.

Bit of a gamble but the 5th one won:rotfl::rotfl:
