So 2 interesting emails this afternoon, firstly the end of the tax year statement from Oxfam - you get green tags to put on your donation bags and then Oxfam can claim back money from the government :D

we started a big sort out last November and most weeks boxes of bric a brac or clothing bags of book bags and sometimes all three go to our 2 Oxfams

so over the November to April they made £187.45 from our donations and they can claim £46.86 back from the tax man - total £234.31:j

    Quite a nice total

(ive still got OHs short tax form to complete - have to figure out how to put these figures on the form yet ...)

I like sorting out afternoons :D

Have you put other name drivers on - our offspring have us as 2nd and 3rd named social drivers (both of us have clear liscenses) - bring sit down a bit.
Also check that the job description is correct - when I double checked it was wrong on both sons and when corrected it brought the price down.

Sadly lads under 25 will always get a rough deal from insurance companies until they have built up a few years no claims.

Oh yes we're all on the policy...and we must be cut from the same cloth,a student at college living at home is a better risk than a university student living at home which it seemed to default to first of all,so I phoned and amended that and £50 came off the policy.
What I also found interesting was playing around with the excess didnt acutally reduce the premium so I left that as the presets...although you would assume that a higher voluntary excess would reduce it.
Black box will be installed within 10 days.....ds1 thinks thats a brilliant bit of kit...I'm just concerned it will pick up mine and his dads bad driving habits!!!!

Edited to add..its an admiral policy and with black box you cant do a multi car apparently.
frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

That's a shame that you get penalised for where you live. The £600 sounds good on a provisional well done. I know DD oh paid over £800 on his provisional.
Ds2 paid £283:o and his new on full licence will be £550 he is very pleased as his best friend just paid £1400:eek:

The price will double for us once he passes his test....but just to show the differences one company wanted £17k for a fully comp policy on the new car...so £600 initially until he passes his test and it goes up seemed a good result...

I've got a womble dated the 20th with 2 glades on £6 each or 2 for £6 not on apg.
    bar code 500020480015.
Scans on msl as Glade electric plug in clean Linen.Unknown on a.com.This could be a trigger against toscos who have Glade sense and spray refill floral groove for £3.Sada has this as £5.98 or 2 for £6

On @.com it shows clean linen but when you click on it, it says jasmine... Same with the msm app. Wonder if it is like the shampoo/conditioner mix up...??

I'm doing a hd for tomorrow so I will give it a try:)

Try admiral multi car. Someone told me about it. A normal quote for my daughter just as a named driver from Admiral was£1450 but putting my husbands car on from next April when it's due brought it down to £1075. She passed two years ago but it is so expensive it's about 6k for her to have her own insurance as if anyone will pay that !!

I can also recommend Admiral multi car - we have been with them about 4 years now, various cars have come and gone but we have always seemed to have a good deal with them.

If you go to the say no to 0845 number website there is a Freephone number - otherwise I will dig out the number I always use.

You can have up to 4 cars on the policy - they don't all have to live at your address - we had our 2 and youngest and eldest at their home addresses.

Our renewal date is in July. Eldest son got a mini coupe when he came back to the UK in January so we got a pro rata insurance quote for him. In July when the date comes up he will get a full years no claim as his policy is more than 6 months.

He got his first years no claim by having a fast track account - in 10 months he got a full years. That was valid for 2 years - he was out of the country then for a while until Jan this year. So in July he will have 2 years and be over 25 so we are hoping for a drop.

Last year when I got the quotes I rang up to double check everything and the first thing the chap said was, oh I can see you have been with us 3 years now so I can give you another discount :j - I wonder if he was expecting me to start a complaint :rotfl:
