I'm no expert on Birmingham hotels but there do seem to be a few that could be in your price range and with a pool on Lateroomies....something like this could be worth watching...not central birmingham but if memory serves me right solihull isnt to far from the centre and there are good cheap local rail links around the edge of the city.

Thankyou LEJC, will take a look xx

    This is a difficult one.

If you do a search on booking.com and then register with them, look for your specific hotel they will email you - probably every day :rotfl: - to tell you the price has dropped.
I've been watching the hotel price of one we stayed at last year (Yorkshire one) If I booked the dates we wanted in August right now it would be £90 a night  But last year I got 2 nights for £120 or £110 after the laterooms discount and I only booked 3 weeks before. Looking only a few weeks ahead I can get the same rooms for £55 a night - midweek but that suits us.

Hotels with pools are few and far between

We really need a Birmingham expert - its slightly out of my range.

Are you going on the train or in the car?

Going in the car mhoc. A pool is not vital but would like a sauna or something but even then most important is 4 star at good price even if like LEJC says get train into centre from hotel. TY cx

so you need to factor in if the hotel has a car park and if so is there a daily charge :D

Worth bearing in mind your builder may have to pay per tonne at the weigh bridge as it would/should be classed as commercial.

Just pop a bit in your grey bin each fortnight ( should be weekly) until it's all gone :money:

you think fortnightly is bad we are every 3 weeks now  but recycling every week:)

The only things that regularly go in our general waste wheels bin is ashes from the fire (cooked down of course) the big black plastic bags the coal comes in and the wood chip kitty litter

We recycle just about everything else - food waste goes to the fox - she seems to love the left over spoon of mashed pots and her tail is now starting to look so much more brush like than it was :j

we have learnt to be like that but feed the hens not a fox:)

Random question, I know a couple of you have Aloe Vera plants, have they ever flowered for you? One of mine has, the mother plant, it has a long stem about 2ft high with lots of little buds on the top. It just seems to be getting taller by the day. The flowers haven't even started opening yet. I just wondered if anybody else has experienced this.

My 'Vera' flowers every year and has done for the past 5 years. I bought it in Lidl, very small but over the years DH has re-potted it until it's now in a massive pot in the conservatory.
We think it started to flower after he dropped it and maybe caused trauma and made it start flowering.
Mine ends up with a trident shaped top with lots of flowers on it. They seem to grow by inches over night.
I have posted a picture or two over the years on here but wouldn't know how to find them :rotfl:

From your neighbour in Suffolk  :rotfl: :rotfl:

Edit: sure I've read somewhere that it is rare that these flower in UK
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.

Good luck. DD2 had this last week and water was cut off from 07.00-20.00 for a week. Then they had to boil all water before use. Had a problem and only got full water on again on Tuesday.

 bad enough they arrived 5.5 hours later than scheduled because they had an emergency to deal with first. DH works for the water authority so can at least rattle the right cages if necessary. I always hate it when workmen are around though, I can't really settle to anything.

When I got my now tv box before xmas there was a top-up card with the 2 month on it.. I had the month free trial then the 2 months movies after :)

I'm thinking of getting a couple more boxes just for the 2 month movie cards.

I wonder if it's the payment details or the now tv box that allows the 30day trial

I had a 3 month entertainment pass with the box I bought at Christmas. When I came to cancel online they offered me 4 months @ £3.99 per month to stay so worth checking. Not sure if this also works on movies pass.

Can't comment on the box as I use my codes through my PS3. But if you have a different payment card & email I believe you can get further free trial months (I know this works on Netflix - think Now works too.)

we have learnt to be like that but feed the hens not a fox:)

I thought hens were only allowed now to be fed specific things like greens - cabbage stalks?

Unfortunatley our cats have got very finicky now so we end up with food they just wont eat - swapping between 4 different brands - so the fox is being spoilt at the moment, not just a dollop of potato or some bread crusts or suspect bits of cheese :D

We just have one grey recycle bin and everything is supposed to go in therefor emptying once a fortnight - no way would it even last a week. So we just put cardboard in it and it then lasts about 6 weeks until its full.

Paper waste we tend to hang onto until we have a basket full incase someone puts something in they should not have

Everything else - cans, bottles, plastic go to our sainsburys recycling at least once a week - only place locally for plastic and it also has an Oxfam cloth and shoe recycling bin
