  • OK some progress has been made on boosting income for the commitments I've got this week...
    • Sold a rug via FB, so saving ebay fees, for £30 plus postage, paid straight into paypal account
    • Already got bids on the rug on ebay (14 watching with 6 days to go) - currently at £10.50 (aiming for £50 ish)
    • Done a deal on the liner rugs, so in all £40 profit there
    (a) Staff Friday party = £30
    (b) Physio Thursday = £39
    [STRIKE](c) Lunch Wednesday = £40[/STRIKE] Got it :)
    [STRIKE](d) Parking Ticket = £25[/STRIKE] Got it :)

    Still need to find = [STRIKE]£134[/STRIKE] £69 :(

Spent £1.70 on a sandwich from the canteen at work today, with no other spends, so that's pretty good for me!

About to check online banking & update YNAB

Thursday morning drama - I have had an outstanding balance with the vets for my horse's recent treatment. I've put it through his insurance company but needed to pay £145 excess, £286.50 for 2 boxes of Gastrogard (which I've previously put through the insurance, but cannot now claim as is out of the 12 month claim limit), and then sedated & teeth work from back in Feb... in total the bill came to just over £499 :eek::eek::eek:
It has had to go onto a CC as I simply do not have that kind of cash. I'm gutted, I've been working so hard to stay within budget & not to use my CC at all, which would be an amazing achievement with my past spending habits.
Yes I knew I had some outstanding on the bill, but I didn't realise it would come to quite that much.

On the bright side, I had a lovely day yesterday, all spends budgeted for and it felt great.

    Seriously deflated today though :(

    A very quiet onwards.

  • Just completed an energy swap from standard tariff EDF (Gas & Leccy) to 'ExtraEnergy' using the MSE Energy Comparison website, saving approx. £176 over the year :). I'll also receive £34 cashback within 90 days :j

    Lunch from stores
Need to buy horse feed, but I have a money-off voucher which will help
Revised Aug YNAB - still over my monthly salary, but have added an 'ebay sales' category which I can use to help track my sales
Just read through the most recent debt-free roll of honour thread for some inspiration
Ready to send PPI info (CC statement) to Lloyds re their letter which said they couldn't find any record of my CC
    Checked online banking

    onwards!

  • I haven't posted in a while - I've had another mid-month-fall-off-the-waggon-and-forget-about-monitoring-my-finances moment

Just to report that my truck has today failed its MOT and I now have a £429.25 bill coming on Thursday to get it back on the road.

July is turning out to be a rather expensive month.

    A very quiet onwards

  • OK guess what, I'm still no further forward with my debt issues/crisis/drama :( However now being 30 weeks pregnant has focussed the mind somewhat as the reality of maternity leave payments loom

My current financial situation is rather sticky - I'm meeting minimum payments at the mo, but will struggle when my income drops. I'm trying desperately not to panic so I've come up with the following list to get me started...
    • Find Lloyds TSB CC statement (buried in a pile in the living room) to chase potential PPI claim & send off
    • List ONE item on eBay - going for a Boden dress I've worn once for a wedding last year
    • Dig out payslips from some extra work I did 2014/15 & complete tax return
    • Call vets to pay £170 bill
    • Call insurance company to chase remaining payment for a current claim with the vets (worth about £380)
    • Muck out car
    • NSD
So, here we go again... ONWARDS!! :o
