Contrary to the title, my motivation seems to have gone AWOL - after two fab days of getting my head down & working hard, yesterday & this morning have been fairly shocking. Not done a thing (that's productive anyway). Went up to the yard to see my horse yesterday which was lovely :heartpuls but just more frustrating that I can't do anything due to the broken leg. Desperate to ride & kick on again, but have to wait until Tues for my next hospital appointment. Hopefully I can have the cast off but equally trying hard not to get my hopes up.
I keep thinking of all the fun stuff I could be doing & but can't, and it just makes me feel fed up. The only realistic thing I can do is marking... woohoo. It really needs to be done, but the thought of it just doesn't fill me with enthusiasm.
Sorry, this is rather a down post.
I've just gotta grit my teeth and deal with it haven't I? I can't actively change anything right now.
On a MSE note:- Just had ebay invoice for 16th May - 15th June = £29.82  which will go out of my account 30th July
- Have just cancelled a monthly subscription to an equestrian online training video site = £4.50/month saved :j
- Checked online banking
- Another NSD yesterday

Ok so here goes...
I've got approx. £30k unsecured debt, right?
Here's my target calculations...
£30K over 6 years = £5000 / year = £416 / month = £13.90 / day in EXTRA payments
Yes this will be affected by interest being added to my CC accounts (mostly on 0%, but some on 'normal' 24.9% interest. I can't quite get my head around what effect this will have, so I'll work with out it for the moment.
So this is my targetshould allow a DFD of June 2021

Diary http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=52565480 - created a budget using YNAB

I woke up scared this morning. I'm really pleased that I did the forecast/budget YNAB yesterday, but it has really struck a chord of how close to the SHTF I really am.
It shows that I can afford to pay minimum repayments for all debts (which is good I guess)
But it also shows that I have NOTHING to put aside for financial emergencies. To give an example, I know my car needs a service, but I have nothing to pay for it with. I cannot even afford £5 a month to set something aside for this sort of thing. I can hear you all screaming at me "well, you should have been doing this anyway", but I haven't - I've been too busy burying my head in the sand. God forbid anything going wrong & needing replacements/work/etc.
I've put all my categories onto the budget & basically my salary goes into three HUGE groups - DEBT, Horse & Monthly bills.
I've allocated spending to each at the absolute minimum to survive. Yes I know, I can also now hear you all screaming "A horse??? A luxury! Get rid!". Sorry, he is my life & he's not going anywhere. Admittedly, much of my spending over the last few years has been FOOLISH and UNNECESSARY and linked to him, but that is all to do with my poor financial awareness & I'll hold my hands up to my complete & utter idiocy on spending on things I just cannot afford, in some foolish idea that I need to prove what a good horse owner I am by buying the best/newest things to offer him the best possible care. I know, just foolish isn't it? I really could just SLAP myself very hard (I wish I had done so a long time ago). I now realise that what my horse needs from me it just that - ME! He doesn't need the latest tack, equipment, etc. He needs me to be financially secure so that we can go on having lots of fun together. I'm such an idiot.
Anyway, back to where I started - I went to sleep (after a long time) worrying about other things I may need to pay for in July, for example a trip to the chiropractor (for me!), potentially £30 towards an end of year staff get-together at work, not having any emergency cash. Then I woke up worrying about the same things. Ooh, and I have a vets bill to pay which will be a few hundred (I need to find out the exact amount as the insurance company are paying some of it) - no idea where that is coming from currently.
Sorry, I just had to get all of this off my chest. I'm lucky, I earn a decent wage (which I work bloody hard for), but I am running very close to the edge & it wouldn't take much to push me over. The realisation is terrifying.

Thank you Belleandthebudget
I appreciate that.
I've managed to take my mind off things by doing loads of marking, plus a clear NSD (#8) so I guess that's something!
