To put in my 2p's worth - it just seems to me that you didn't read 02s T&Cs that came with the SIM/phone. If you had, then you would have been forewarned.

I agree, 02 should perhaps make goodwill gesture and refund your credit on a new SIM, but if you've taken the same (or likely worse) attitude with the call centre staff, thrn it's no wonder they're refusing to help you.

If it were me, I'd put it down to experience.

To be honest the call centre staff can be very good or very bad at O2, the one thing I would say is that they do seem to pass the buck a lot, no one takes ownership of your query unless you tell them to. Also you never know if you are talking to a manager or not, which isn't great either.

The sad thing is that unless O2 believe they are going to make a certain amount of profit from you they will tell you where to go- SIM only deals aren't that profitable for them as you can cancel at any time, they don't know how long you are going to stay with them.

I personally get a manager to take ownership of the query and see what happens.

T-mobile did the same, however they did offer to re activate the sim which would have cost £10 ....more than was on the card which was about £8. I asked for a refund on the unused money by cheque but they point blank refused. I wouldn't have minded but the phone was one I bought for my dad who didn't have cause to use it because he had been hospital for over 7 months after having had a stroke and remembering his phone was the last thing on our minds !

    Rip off phone companies...again!
