How to access broadband with new provider and old router?

Hello all
I changed from talk talk to plusnet yesterday and kept my old Huawei router, ironically to avoid the faff of setting up a new one . Router picks up Internet but I can't get online. Have googled to no avail.
Any ideas or do I need a new router? I expected plusnet to help but realise now that there's no chance. All ideas gratefully received

You have to log on to plusnet routers with the details you set up when you signed up
If you cannot do it on that router then that's the problem
You need to access the admin panel on the talk talk router and swap the detailsEx forum ambassador

Thanks for the reply. So I log onto the plusnet router via laptop? Is it the 192 number?0

when you signed up to plusnet uor would have been given a piece of paper with your username and password
something like myname@plusnet.co.uk and a password
you need to go into the settings on the router , your computer needs to be connected by cable NOT wifi , and you open up a browser and enter the number where your router lives , this is written on the bottom of the router.
an old talk talk router here it is 192.168.1.1
remember CABLE ONLY no wifi
when you get in , it will ask you for your OLD TALK TALK password to let you in , not the plusnet one0 -
Brilliant will have a go0

Some older TT routers will not allow you to simply overwrite log in credentials, they are locked down -I did try to use an old Huawei one obtained from s-i-l to get onto my PN account earlier this year when my own router died -but no luck!!0

well im online but didn't change the ssid and so no wireless- how do I find plusnets ssid and network password?
thanks for all the comments so far0 -
again the network password for a new router would be on the new router , you are using the old router , your ssid will show as tt , probably and the password will be the old one0

I have done the same transferred from TalkTalk to PlusNet. The Wi fi password will be on you modem, but access to the internet will require the PlusNet password (something like *********@dslplus.net.
If you're still struggling after this then get back to me.0 -
No, you won't need a new router / modem.0

There is no set up required on a new Plusnet router. The u/n and p/w are already set and you simply need to plug it in and wait about ten minutes. The router would have been free, you pay £5.99 delivery only. And remember that if you do need tech support, PN will not support other models of router-only their own.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
