Doesn't the delivery information have to be relayed from the destination network or can Orange determine it from their end? They could justify it by saying they're covering the costs charged by the destination network if that's the case.
Re: the O2 delivery report technique, why haven't they just made it selectable from the handset (e.g for Nokias it's in the SMS message settings)? If the customer can do it via a code in each message, it just seems logical to make it selectable via the handset as is the case for diverts. Oh well, one more pet hate to justify my leaving O2 hehe!
