Hi,
Just wanted some advice really, I have just sold something on Ebay and my listing stated colletion only. The listing ended today and I was out all this morning and during that time I had a person send me a message asking if i would deliver it (I couldnt respond obviously as I was out). He then bought it and sent another message saying;
"I ealier sent a message asking if you could help us put this item in the post at ur end. It doesnt have to be special delivery. Just regular post zould be ok.
KIndly confirm so I can pay for both the Buggy and the post."
I have just sent back a message apologising for not being able to reply to his question, but as the listing stated it was for collection only and can he could he contact me with a convenient time for collection but he lives in a different county to me and think he will refuse to pay and collect.
Does anyone know where I stand?
Thanks for your help!

you can suggest he pay extra for postage, DO NOT IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCES POST IN NORMAL POST AS HE SUGGESTS, that sounded a little fishy
postage may cost as little as £5.99 via PPD who use DHL0 -
You don't have to post it at all. I would say sorry but it quite clearly stated collection only on the listing. If the buyer refuses to collect, file an unpaid item dispute and offer a second chance offer if possible.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Woohoo! I'm normal! Gotta go tell the cat.0 -
but there's no harm in posting if the buyer agrees to pay extra, after all, it'll save the hassle of a dispute and claiming fee's back and the re-listing0

Thanks for you replies.
Can see what you mean but the reason why I stated collection only is because it is a bulky heavy item, I am pregnant and also have 4 year old twins, so didnt want to lug it down to the post office. Similarly, I didnt want to have to wait in all day for a courier to collect it.0 -
In that case respon dpolitely nd say that as per the auction terms this is a collection only item and that you willr equire it collected within 7 days of winning with payment in cash.
If they still say no then wait until day 7 and start the NPB process on them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. i've got a couple of items on ebay at the moment which are big and are going to be a nightmare to package, so i have stuck them on as pick up only but already on each i've had people asking if i can post it. The problem is that with big and bulky items, you have to lug them to the post office or measure them, often the postage is so high that it ends up lowering the item price as you are better off just buying the items new in the shop....
I have mailed the 2 people who contacted me and out them off with tales of how high the postage charges will be and that i cant be responsible for damage in delivery etc.
OP - if you want collection only as you dont want the hassle of having to get it weighed, going out to get the packaging etc (totally understandable, the sales is in YOUR terms not theirs), then mail them back and tell them its not happening, and do a second chance offer. Alternatively if you dont mind going to the trouble of posting, just let them know it'll take a while whilst you get the packaging and costs sorted - they'll have to be patient.I never missed a payment :T , I paid off all my credit cards :T , I paid of all my loans :T , i have a work mobile :T - but am now "medium" credit risk0 -
If its a Buggy (Pushchair) use DHL through PayPerDrop on eBay for £5.99 & charge a another £5 for packaging0

Or Parcel2gp pr Postvan.com as they collect from your door. I have bought a buggy on eBay and it has come to me wrapped in black bin liners. The couriers are more reliable and you'll get a set price for the postage. if you buyer is happy to pay the postage then why not if they come to your door and collect it.0

Thanks for your replies, thats been really helpful.
I have used Payperdrop on ebay before and although the service was faultless I did have to wait in all day as they came at 4.30pm, with no option of an a.m or p.m slot, and thats why I didnt include that option in my listing, I simply wanted to have it collected!!
Thanks0 -
Would parcelforce collect any earlier from you? http://www.mhdirectcouriers.co.uk/services/0
