Good morning everyone :hello:
Oh Lyn, I am so so sorry to hear about Docky, he had a fantastic life with you and a peaceful end, what more could a doggy want. I will miss your tales of him and his special sluuurps. You and HWK will be on my mind today holding you up and holding your hands across the ether.
I have to go and see my friend today as I have been invited for lunch. I have booked a taxi there and back so I won't be out for too long. It will be a challenging day for me as this is the friend who is extremely paranoid and I spend all my time reassuring her that my husband and girls don't hate her, the neighbours don't hate her etc etc. I find it very draining as you can imagine.
DD12 is angling to stay home but she had the day off yesterday with tummy ache and was fine so she needs to get her bottom into school today. The others are upstairs getting ready. Hubby is on a half day today and when he comes back will be taking Max to the vets for his second injections and to be chipped. He is desperate to take him out for a walk so it won't be long now. Max also needs a bath before he goes as he is a bit pongy. That will be a fun experience for him :rotfl:.
I will be getting some fish out of the freezer for tea as I have some limes and chorizo to use up. At least it will be quick and easy although hubby will take over the cooking if it is a bit much for me today. The salmon and dill parcels we had for tea last night were lovely, they were from Tesco in the frozen department and I would recommend them.
Well that's all my waffle for now, hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
What sad news to wake up to this morning. MrLW you and your OH gave Docky a wonderful and loving life and even looked after him at the end. I'm so sorry he's gone.
It's grey outside, whether the sun burns through or not is yet to be seen. I've got a lot of things to do, mostly clear the garden of assorted itemscwhichbare scattered around, bag them up and take everything to the tip.
For now I'm going to have another few minutes under the duvet before rousing property.
Good luck to HH's hubby, interviews are very stressful so fingers crossed for him.
Happy Friday everyone.0 -
Mrs LW I am so so sorry about Docky I know how devastated you must be, you looked after him so well so take comfort from that, I like to think of him running free with my Little dog xxxx

Morning all,
Mrs LW,how sad for you all,I am so sorry.Docky was part of your life for such a long time and brought you love and joy.Our pets leave a great hole in our lives when they go.Love & hugs from me xx
HH-good luck vibes for DH interview & calming ones for you.
My dog walking neighbour from our old house came to see me yesterday,Lyla was ecstatic to see her.We went for a bit of lunch to the cafe up the road seeing as I don't have a kitchen fit to entertain anyone at the moment due to the ongoing building work. She loved the rooms that have been finished so far,and brought me some mags and a herb planter set and some veg plants which was very nice of her.
DGD came to tea last night and was desperate to get to the park up the road.We had a little play area on our old street but this is one of the towns main parks and the playground is very good.Due to the nice weather there were lots of children playing so she enjoyed it :T
Plans for today include going out to get some bread and milk.I had a milkman before we moved so we never ran out of milk really. There isnt a handy little shop locally here either so it will involve catching a bus down the ring road.I managed to squeeze 2 loaves in the freezer from Mondays shop, and a small bottle of milk but thats gone now.I am feeling the lack of a decent sized freezer,we bought this small secondhand one to tide us over until the kitchen gets done but its not big enough really to get aweeks worth of stuff in.
Anyway I'd better get on with the day, hope yours is a good one x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

Good luck to your OH Hester x
Mrs LW I'm so so sorry about DockyRIP little man xx
The chickens have been dusted with mite powder, I haven't seen any but keep thinking my hands are itching when I've been into their shed. I know they're tiny little sods but I can spot one quite easily and there's definitely none there. It's the warm weather we're having, it makes me think about them then I start to itchThe perches and nesting boxes have been dusted too, hopefully they'll be killed off as they appear.
I still haven't packed any clothes. I've written a list though, that counts as preparation, right? I've done the important stuff – my book and crochet things are readyI'll be taking the laptop so I can bore with Cornwall stuff, lol. I don't want to go to a supermarket when we arrive so I'm going to take toiletries and some food with us. I know where the pubs, cafes and gift shops are in St Ives – I even have a favourite pasty shop there, lol – but I don't know anything else. I want to buy my fresh food from local people, so will search out bakers, butchers and fruit and veg shops.
Today I'll pack (eventually) and I need to check the greenhouses and veg patch. I'll give them a good watering later then hope miss tru remembers to water them for the next week.

RIP Docky. So sorry for your loss Lyn.
HH, calming vibes for you - I'm the one who gets grumpy when stressed or worried in our household I'm afraid, I know I'm doing it usually and I know why I'm doing it but it doesn't stop me!
We had a lovely evening walk in the sunshine yesterday but now the rain is back, so depressing.
DS rang last night to talk about plans for his and gf's wedding. Thankfully it will be next year (I don't think I could cope with two in one year) and probably in Italy with only family and close friends present. I think he thought we'd object but of course we don't.
Friday clean for me today as well TA. I also want to finish a quilt top if I can.
Have a good day.0 -
Morning,
HH - Fingers crossed for your DH.
Mrs LW - So sad ((((hugs))))
Woke up this morning to lots of banging on the windows - a hail storm, couldn't believe how huge some of them were. Bit of thunder and lightening thrown in too. Cleared away very quickly though and is now very humid. Supposed to rain again at lunch time.
Took my jacket back to the dry cleaners this morning. Couldn't believe how dreadful it looked when I went to put it away last night. It had pulls, a pink stain and general grubbiness like it had been washed with something pink and some greasy overalls. They said they'd put it back through again, so I will just have to wait and see.
Off to a funeral this afternoon so don't know about dinner yet.
Have a good day everyone0 -
Lyn so sorry to hear about Docky.
WE HAVE A SECRET
We have a secret, you and I
that no one else shall know,
for who but I can see you lie
each night in fire glow?
And who but I can reach my hand
before we go to bed
and feel the living warmth of you
and touch your silken head?
And only I walk woodland paths
and see ahead of me,
your small form racing with the wind
so young again, and free.
And only I can see you swim
in every brook I pass
and when I call, no one but I
can see the bending grass.
