Shoes ruined when I washed them and company unwilling to compensate in any way.

I washed a pink pair of converse in the washing machine and ruined them because the colour faded out completely (which didn't happen with my navy blue ones that wash well). Didn't even consider contacting retailer and just accepted it as my mistake.

If my shoes get muddy I usually just bang them on a wall outside when they are dry now, but if they are really bad I rinse them with the shower head in the bath with lukewarm water and rub with my fingers which usually does the trick.
