Hi Eagle, how did you get on with your letter? I got a similar link to the one you received and wondering if you were successful or not before I send a letter off to the,. Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi,
Vodafone replied to me eventually. Their response was a no, but they did say that if after the tariff increases in August I feel that my bills have gone up by more than 10%, then I can write to them again.
They quoted that my cancellation charge otherwise would be subject to a fee, which they mentioned in the letter.
Hope this helps!0 -
Same here but i'm not letting it drop.
They have sent out 3 messages with different links to people on the relevant price plans
Overview of them are
1. You may see an increase (as quoted below in the "may" operator)
2. you will see a raise
3 you may see a raise (business accounts)
4. you will see a rise (business accounts)
This is based on historical bills.
Heres a quote from the link given in the first example above. From 10 August 2015, there’ll be a single price of 37.5p (excluding VAT) a minute for the following plans:
4G Red, Red, Red+, Red Business, Essentials, Your Plan Small Business, Business Single plans, Your Plan, Standard Bundle, Red Bundle, Red Value Bundle, Business Premier and One Net Express Single plans.
The tables below give more details. You’ll see that some of our excess charges will increase in price, while others will drop, but it should become simpler to understand your costs when making calls on our network.
We appreciate this may mean your monthly bills increase by more than the Retail Price Index of 0.9%, so we’re giving you the opportunity to end your agreement with us without charge. To do this, simply write to us within 30 days of the receipt of this communication at Vodafone Customer Care, Vodafone House, The Connection, Newbury, Berkshire RG14 2FN.
That there is quite clear, it states you "this may mean your monthly bills increase by more than the Retail Price Index of 0.9%, so we’re giving you the opportunity to end your agreement with us without charge"
The letter I received back quoted "the changes being implemented will not raise your bill by more than 10% so you are not eligible for early termination free of charge."
I then proceeded to call and webchat alot of "advisors" and every person kept quoting 10% I kept telling them its irrelevant as it clearly states that my bill "may" go up by more than 0.9%(so not based on historical usage) and clearly states on their own website that they are offering the opportunity for early cancellation, once again they revert back to 10%.
So time for a little more research I found out that the 10% that everyone kept quoting me is new/old legislation for people who signed a contract before 24th January 2014.
Everyone who is now on a contract signed after that date is eligible for free ET if a price hike exceeds the RPI not the 10% as stated.
Every "advisor" I have spoken/chatted to doesn't seem to be able to grasp what is have mentioned above and told me to snail mail back to the address stating my concerns as they have no way of contacting that team via email or telephone which is convenient as there is a 30 day deadline for this issue, though i'm guessing I wont breach that as they have already acknowledged my notification.
Letter will be sent tomorrow stating the above. lets see how this goes0 -
Good work!
I wonder what sort of response you'll get. I might just try writing to them myself because they did say I should write in if I thought things might be different. Thanks again for your detailed analysis!0 -
I have send letter on 29th June 2015 but no response from vodafone, so i decided to try live chat, after 15 different agent transfers loop this is what i have been told :
Ujjaval : Thank you for your patience.
Ujjaval : I checked details for you and can see that we have already received a request for the free of cost
cancellatoin for you and your contract will be cancelled on 26/07/2015
I asked for the PAC code.
Ujjaval : You can not get the PAC code .........., if you apply for the free of cost cancellation.
Ujjaval : we are allowing you to cancel the contract free of cost as it is effected in the price plan change.
After insisting that its my right to have the pac code :
Ujjaval : I checked details for you and for the pac code you will need to speak with the
cancellation team which is not available at the moment.
I called CS cancellation department, one agent said that you cannot get pac code, after few transfer now they saying that i am not eligible for free cancellation, even on live chat they say this agent did a mistake.
Now i have written another letter today plus live chat transcript as a proof that the agent confirmed i can cancel my contract, the other agents are keep telling me that i am not affected by this price change, even though i mentioned that calls to 0500 numbers will be going up from 17p to 37p and also i made few calls to 0844 0845 numbers which do affect me.0 -
Please advise, I too got a text stating I was entitled to free cancellation though when I wrote requesting this they said no based on my previous bills.
Does this mean that should I decied to start using all my minutes and picture messages etc I wont have any tarriff increase.
I have wrote to them requesting that I will not be affected in any way from the increase should I decied to use all my minutes and ring the other numbers that they advise will be subject to a rise in charges.
As of today I will be using All my allowance.0 -
