Tuck car for servise at a garrage, they rang me up and recomended cam belt change, i agreed.

They rang me up later and said they had issues, a bolt was stuck or would not fit i carnt remember but asked my permission to heat the bolt in hope to fix the issue. They said it was 50/50 and it could make it worse but there really was nothing elce they cud do. So i said ok go ahead.

They ring me later and say it didnt work, bolts snapped and fell in engine or somet. Said they might need to send car off have engine taken out !!!

Its gona cost me a fortune to have engine taken out ect.....

Its my work car, no car, no earnings for me, i am self employed.

This is going to cost soooo much money !!

Is it my fault ?? Or the garrage ??

Probably nobody's "fault", just one of those things. Sometimes things don't go according to plan, because of factors outside of anybody's control. Maybe whoever did the cambelt last time butchered the thread putting the bolt back in. Or maybe they drenched it in threadlock. Maybe it's just quite simply corroded into place. Whatever the cause, paying for the time to sort it is down to you. Sounds like they've been good at keeping you informed, although they could have explained the consequences more clearly.

Without a bit better clue as to the actual problem, rather than Chinese Whispers (no dig intended), it's difficult to say what the score is, but it might well be that the head has to be removed, stripped, and sent off to have the remaining bolt spark-eroded out.

If your earnings rely on you having a car, then hiring one for the interim has to be better than sitting on your chuff.

It has never been changed before.

The garrage said that the "manufacturer" have put the bolt on too tight...

whilst bolts can and do fail through no ones fault (old fiats are particularly bad for this) i am struggling to see how any of the bolts connected to the cambelt change operation could fall into the engine, unless this is actually a timing chain.

what is the make model and age of vehicle please.

Did you notice it was very noisy ?
Thats the point of timing chains, they dont need replacing unless they are really gone.

Usually when the Timing chain is going they make a right racket, its a lifetime part otherwise and does not need routine replacement.

Are you sure they are not having you over here ?

If your Mondeo was the 2.0 Litre diesel the cam chain has no replacement interval and should last in excess of 200K miles before even needing attention.

Didnt the 2010 model go back to a belt? Except the ones where its a chain and a belt combo.

The original post says it's a cambelt change. Come on OP which is it a belt or a chain? Maybe the garage meant that they heated the bolt (almost certainly the pulley bolt), then snapped it off leaving the rest of the bolt in the camshaft. They don't seem very competent as they ought to be able to drill it out and retap if necessary.
