RANT: Bl**dy sellers!!

I do actually worry about the general state of education nowadays. The facebook selling groups have really opened my eyes to what we are churning out of the education system. I don't recall the last time I saw 'clothes' spelt correctly, the general consensus is that cloths is the correct spelling. I've seen wor drobs, Chester drawers, buge (a buggy) and willytom boots all in the past month.
I'm banned from a Couple as well for pointing out that a con was taking place. Apparently I am stuck up and don't trust anybody, and that nice girl who wants a deposit up front by bank transfer so she can get you a Michael Kors handbag , is completely genuine. Even when she was still taking deposits two weeks after people had expected delivery and had stopped responding to text messages on her throw away phone- I apparently wasn't being fair to her.
That sounds about right. Those sites do make me chuckle, tbh I've given up on them, I found that generally people want something for nothing and expect you to deliver it too, they also love arguments, slagging somebody off and speculations.
Oh and the latest one was a girl moaning about sellers not willing to drop price to next to nothing, to help her out as she was a bit hard up, but a few sellers pointed out that maybe sellers are in the exact same position and that's the reason they sell.
Regarding spelling, that's just hilarious Soolin! I've seen cloths for sale too and thought to myself, surely that was just a typo! Maybe not. My biggest pet hate is their and there and a couple of others and I'd like to add that English is not my first language

In the past I've sold genuine (but unbranded) leather items (wallets and bags) on Ebay, but it's so hard for your listings to be found unless someone actively puts 'genuine leather' or similar into the search engine on Ebay. Just entering 'leather bag' or 'leather wallet' brings up the 'faux leather' brigade - which are all cheaper, sell in larger numbers, and therefore appear much closer to the top of the search. Drives me mad!
As for facebook selling.....I totally agree with Soolin. What with terrible spelling plus txt spk and/or emojis when people use their mobile phones to post messages I could do with an interpreter sometimes!0 -

As a buyer, even doing this doesn't always help. I've seen numerous listings for items made of "genuine PU leather" :rotfl: As if there's such a thing as fake PU leather! Amazon is no better, it's hard to find the genuine leather stuff. Phone cases are particularly bad, I had a job and a half working out which listings really were leather.0 -
We'll have to start listing as:
"leather from a cow" or
"leather from a laboratory"
to differentiate.
Don't get me started on FB or freegle. I am trying to give away an exercise bike. For nothing. One taker, using disposable email. Few emails from him then nothing.
I had to leave the local FB selling group as the typos (being kind) or level of thickness (being realistic) was actually hurting my eyes.0 -
I left my local selling group for all of the above plus got tired of seeing rare and vintage attached to old Primark stuff a few years old at best.
As for leather handbags i have been moaning about that for years. I tend now to never buy new, and only buy brands that i know, which tends to cut out the whole PU thing for the most part.0 -

I offered quite a few bits and pieces 'free on collection' as I am still trying to clear my mum's flat as it is in the process of being sold. Most of the items were snapped up- however only one thing has actually physically gone - and it's been almost a month now since I first offered.
I've had a whole assortment of failed collections - people wanting a special day and time and then just not bothering to turn up, and not even bothering to send a message to say why or to apologise. When I re offer I get a slap on the wrist from a mod telling me I already have someone itnerested and have to wait for them to say they have changed their mind..
Then there's the people who arrange to collect, want directions, want a pic of the house (I jest not) and then an hour after they fail to turn up admit they don't drive so could I be an angel and drop it over to their place as they are disabled....
I am in fact just packing a couple of boxes of items and labelling them with my gift aid number for the local hospice shop. I have just deleted them from the selling pages and if all these people who definitely wanted the items- and were in desperate need of a rug or a fire guard do ever bother to turn up it will be too late. (I am feeling particularly grumpy today as I got up and ready for 8am for someone to collect something and as it is now 10 O clock I assume it is another failed collection)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. This was a common issue with FB groups. Let's face it Soolin, there are a scary number of low-rent people out there.
Recognising it doesn't make you a snob.0 -
I saw an advert for a 'food prosser' today.0

I kept seeing listings for rental of 4 birth caravans .
Not one person over quite a period of time could spell it.
Then someone selling a small cheap soft toy" hole where stitchings come undone" £4 .
Another person trying to sell their baby's bib printed with baby's name and date of christening!!0
