RANT: Bl**dy sellers!!
deeds
I sell on ebay myself & describe things properly and exactly how they are without lies etc..I've bought two bags this week, (different sellers) both littered throughout the listing (and the item specifics) 100% leather, leather bag, lovely leather blahblah.. they arrive and NEITHER of them are even leather!! The labels even say polyurethane,
WHY do people do this?? Its infuriating & just ends up more hassle at the end. I'm obviously not going to pay for a PU bag what I'd pay for a leather bag & I wouldn't buy on a PU bag anyway. So now I have the NAD hassle, returns, etc..
What's the point in lying?

On the plus side, the seller gets a defect and if you get a label, will lose outward and returns postage with 20p Paypal.0

There's a thread on one of the facebook selling pages I use about the same thing. Someone complained about a leather jacket that they had gone to collect and which was man made. The interesting thing is that it has developed into a real bun fight with the seller claiming buyers are thick , as leather is just what something looks like and it can be man made. The last gem I read was a mate of the seller cussing and cursing people on the basis they are really stupid, because if leather had to come from an animal then how did they expect a vegetarian to wear it.
I am keeping out of it, but an quite dumfiunded at the lack of Intelligence in many people.
Just gone to take a look and there are several sub threads running about 'faux' leather now, with side discussions about whether nylon can be sold as faux silk, or even silk.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Sounds like good entertainment to me. :rotfl:

It's scary how 'thick' some people are

I've got my ebay returns label for one of them anyway, looks the other is going to be an escalation job. grrrJust because you are offended, doesn't mean you are right0 -
eBay is chock-a-block with "PU Leather" listings (aka Polyurethane) 330k of them at eBay.co.uk alone.
I think it should be cracked down on as it can be very confusing and is an obvious attempt to deceive the inattentive - not that eBay cares though.
SPCome on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.0 -
Yeah, if it has said PU Leather fair play that would have been my own stupid fault.. but a listing peppered with adjectives such as '100% leather' 'buttersoft leather' 'real leather' 'gorgeous LEATHER bag'
I was expecting it to be leather..
grrrrr!!
I'm in the middle of a scrap with parcel2Go live online chat at the moment..
I'm really irate now!!Just because you are offended, doesn't mean you are right0 -
I bought a "leather" bag from a private seller which turned out to be "PU Leather" according to the label. Not so much buttersoft leather, more like "I can't believe it's not butter" soft leather":mad:
It was one of those auctions that ended at stupid o'clock in the morning and I got it for a song so I didn't bother sending it back in the end, it was just too much hassle.
I did leave negative feedback/stars though!"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -

Sounds very entertaining! I'd watched a program a couple of years ago about 2 fasion graduates who loved wearing leather shoes/boots but didn't have a clue where it came from, so they have been taken on tour (like from field to fork) from seeing the pig on the field to slaughter house to the end product and guess what, they were shocked that the leather comes from an animal! It was priceless to see their face expressions through out the program. So much for studying fasion, they obviosly forgot to study the subject on the materials and how they're made :rotfl:0 -

I do actually worry about the general state of education nowadays. The facebook selling groups have really opened my eyes to what we are churning out of the education system. I don't recall the last time I saw 'clothes' spelt correctly, the general consensus is that cloths is the correct spelling. I've seen wor drobs, Chester drawers, buge (a buggy) and willytom boots all in the past month.
I'm banned from a Couple as well for pointing out that a con was taking place. Apparently I am stuck up and don't trust anybody, and that nice girl who wants a deposit up front by bank transfer so she can get you a Michael Kors handbag , is completely genuine. Even when she was still taking deposits two weeks after people had expected delivery and had stopped responding to text messages on her throw away phone- I apparently wasn't being fair to her.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
