Cheapest way to get from the UK to America ?

I have a girlfriend who i would like to visit for a long weekend. I know flights are expensive. Are there any tricks people are aware of for saving money getting across the Atlantic ? Thanks. I figured you might be good guys to ask ! :cool:

You may know these two things already, but just in case:
1) Remember to get an ESTA (visa). Lots of websites sell you this but you need to get it from a US government website as opposed to a 3rd party website.
2) Take a pen with you on the flight to complete paperwork. No pens pre-immigration in every US airport I have been through.
