I have a girlfriend who i would like to visit for a long weekend. I know flights are expensive. Are there any tricks people are aware of for saving money getting across the Atlantic ?
Thanks. I figured you might be good guys to ask !

There have been a lot of cheap fares this year starting in mainland Europe, particularly Dublin and Oslo. So you book something like Dublin-USA-London. I saved £300 doing this on BA.
You then book a cheap flight out to Dublin the day before courtesy of Ryanair. Although this does add extra time to your trip which you may not want to do if you are only going for a long weekend.0 -
This might sound like a joke (!) but you can get across the Atlantic on the Queen Mary 2 for £499 - 7 days of luxury and a return flight to the UK included in the price. Worth a thought!😀🚢⚓️0

America is a big continent. Which bit of it do you want to get to, and where in the UK are you leaving from?0

You *do* realize the US is as far across from East to West - as it is to cross the Atlantic ?
Depends when you want to go, one way or return and where.
I'm paying £300 return to California at the end of August and that's a very cheap deal using an ex Europe fare and a placement flight - I doubt you'd be able to do it for less.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

That is disgustingly cheap. Will you be stood on the wing for the entire flight

You don't say where in the USA your girlfriend is.
It would be like me finding you a cheap flight to Norway and she lives in Egypt.0
