Which CAB are you going to as I'd recommend either the one in Bellevale or Wavertree, the one in Central near the Slug and Lettuce is a bit useless.

You could volunteer with the CAB too as it provides useful realworld experience.

Why can you only do applications on line?

Any call centres in your area? It is pretty monotonous but have huge staff turnover.

In Liverpool and the surrounding areas there are loads; Barclays have a call centre in Wavertree and Santander's in Bootle.

I fear the OP is holding out for a graduate role with the perks but the competition for them is extremely high

I'm confused, the student loan was never intended to cover the summer. When I graduated some of my friends claimed JSA straight away in May/June.

    Has this changed with UC?

    Hi guys,

I'm just wondering if anyone could shred some light on applying for benefits after University?
Believe me, the last thing I wanted to do is apply for any form of benefits, but to be honest, I've been at University for 4 years, I've had a part time job for 2/4 of those years and I'm still skint right now.

I've fully left my 4 year course, I did it in Sheffield, and I have moved back to Liverpool. I have been applying for graduate jobs, and have an Interview tomorrow. But as a safety blanket, I'm wondering what benefits I am entitled to? I tried to apply for Universal Credit (as I apparently live in a UC area), but was rejected as they said that my student loan should cover me for up to September. Which at this rate, is absolutely impossible, as most of my recent student loan payment went on rent, and bills.

    Thanks in advance,

    Peter.

In what way was your online UC application rejected?

Although I imagine you are classed as a student in June and July as many exams and graduations take place in those months respectively. I can't see anything that would prevent a UC claim in August; but, you may not need to by then.
Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.

PS Costa are advertising for staff in 3 of their Liverpool city centre outlets.

My advice would be to get any job that pays, even if it is at Macccy D's, its a wage coming in while you a looking for a better job that is more suited to your qualifications and chosen career path, not just so it's money coming in, but it also demonstrates that you are willing to work, can be punctual etc etc to any future employer
