I know people like to keep their wedding dresses but I often wonder if, perish the thought, couples split up and divorce, anyone would want to get married a second time wearing the same dress.
Unless it's a style that can be worn for other occasions, like Aesop's, or can be remodelled to be, I think it's lovely to think of another bride having a dream of a day wearing it. Just my view, we're all different:)
In days gone by brides hung onto their dress so it could be passed down to any future daughter for her wedding . This happened to someone who I was a bridesmaid for in the early 60s. Showing my age now, but I was only a child at the time;). From what I recall the bride hated it and, being a lot different in size to her mother, she had to have a lot of alterations done to it before it even fit:eek:0 -

What about making something new out of it?
I knew somebody who decided (after a few years) to use hers for halloween :rotfl: she covered it in fake blood and dressed as a corpse/zombie (I think) bride!
She said it was already covered in red wine stains so didn't matter :rotfl:

I ummed and arred for so long but we recently had our 10th anniversary and I just thought it's been stuck in the loft for 10 years so why on Earth would I want it to be stuck there another 10. It isnt the type of style I could wear again as a 'normal' dress and it's a shame for it to get wasted. MumstheWord**I just thought... what price would I be gutted at it selling for... then added some on and went for that. I have some listing fees to pay off with the money so am only counting actual profit. So although the dress went for £150 I'm taking off everything going out. Aesop will prob remember from years back but I like to do this challenge in actual cash if I can. So where I'm aiming for £600- thats how much actual cash I want at the end.
Very greedy like thatxx

A few years ago I used my Mums for the same purpose! Theyve been married 30 odd years and I dyed it black and went as a corpse bride. Thats why I thought I'd sell mine instead of my daughter taking the scissors to it in 20 years LOL. :rotfl: x0 -
