For anybody up for a laugh, here's my story below:

Was hit with a speed ticket after clocking 40 in a 30mph zone on a static camera. I requested a calibration certification, and was presented with a two year old certification. Argued by saying that I doubted the accuracy of it and denied speeding. Days later they dropped the charge. By law all cameras must be calibrated yearly using manufacture guidelines.

Second case was caught doing 80+ on the A road by a handheld camera. Asked for a calibration certification, asked who was holding charges against me, demanded a written log of the speed device being tested before use, argued the accuracy of the police officer's aim & the laser device. In terms of laser beam spread, laser hitting other objects beside my vehicle or going through glass and causing inaccurate reading. Finally requested a pre-hearing to see all the requested evidence. Heard nothing back since August 2013.

Currently fighting another speeding ticket using a similar method. They are ignoring all the evidence I'm requesting, charming. Anyways beside all this the Wifey is in the legal sector, therefore got plenty of knowledge. Always deny it and demand evidence other than the grain photo they provide.

Well we only have your word for all that because you aren't entitled to any of that evidence just because you've been issued a ticket.

Not if I know I was speeding.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

That's absolutely true but you can request a pre-hearing or ask them to bring evidence during court day. You must demand a list of evidence you want to see in writing. I never had to go to court yet, always had the matter settled within a few correspondent.

So your tickets didn't just go away?

You rejected them, let it go to summons, entered a not guilty plea and then requested the evidence against you.

    I don't doubt that happened.

But for you to suggest the calibration certificate was out on the both occasions you were caught?

So you've had 3 speeding tickets?
    Have you considred not speeding?
I sincerely hope you don't kill a child doing 40 instead of 30.

During the first occasion the calibration certification was 2 years old therefore got it cancelled after mentioning this fact. Second time I pleaded not guilty and politely ask them to show evidence during a pre-hearing before summon date. I never infact got to the pre-hearing stage because most of the evidence I requested are not in record, i.e testing of laser device before use, accuracy of aim blah blah etc. I haven't heard anything since 2013. My licence is clean and my pocket still healthy.

Currently fighting another ticket, hopefully this one will be the last. Don't have the time to compose correspondent and entertain the police. Always ask for evidence and demand it in a pre-hearing because that's your common right.

The dead child won't care if he was doing 30 or 40.
