How far do you travel to work?

Everyone seems to travel so far these days, I don't remember it being like that 10 or so years ago and certainly not when I was a kid.

I'm sure there are people who have to travel further than me, but I'm sick of it, congestion is getting worse and rush hour is expanding. I currently have a 44 mile round trip in the car. The worst I've had was a 70 mile round trip and the best was in one of my first jobs - just a 6 mile round trip!

Currently 28 miles each way. However cover whole of UK so often driving a lot further than that.

Worse was 85 miles each way, and then 55 miles each way (two different jobs, 4 yrs in one and 9 in other)

I have always travelled fairly long distances, over the last 30 years of my career. Best was about four miles each way, but worse job I ever had, awful co. Lasted three months and then I was made redundant along with 100 others. If not, I would have quit.

EDIT: my job immediately before the current one was only about 20 miles each way, and that was an absolute doddle, it does depend on the route. Current role is into city centre BHM, and if I am not on M 42 by 0645am it is murder. So lots of early starts.

60 mile round trip most days to the main base but I cover the whole county so there's other trips during the day as well. However as my contract says I work from home it's all included in my working hours plus I get the mileage paid.

    2 offices. 50 and 80 round trip.

Typically 30-60 minutes depending on travel.

I get travel allowance so it's just the time that's a pain.

work at home 3 days a week, but when I go to the office it is 28 miles each way. Takes me about 30 minutes or so as about 25 miles of that is on a not overly busy motorway, and I usually go after 9am.

Cant complain really as anything is better that one of my previous jobs having to go onto the M62/M66 junction before 9am, and even though the total miles was about the same as at present, could take 2 hours some mornings. Not good.

As the crow flies, my commute is just under 4 miles - but it takes me an hour each way. There are rivers in the way :(

780 paces from my front door to my workplace.
I count them most mornings to pass the time.
I changed jobs from a 3 mile\ 45 minuet drive on hidiously congested roads to a place I can walk to in minuets.
I love it and it was the best change I did.

3 of my previous jobs had daily round trips of 66, 68 and 76 miles. Current is 7 miles. I'd actually rather be doing the miles and enjoying the job than getting to a job I don't enjoy quickly!

I've been travelling 1 hour 40 mins each way for the last 12 years. It's a little more than most of my colleagues but over an hour is normal for London.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!
