I live the the SE. No one in my circle of friends, me included (40s), own their own house. At work only my T/Leader own his due to an inheritance. Everyone rents as house prices are so high.
My friend (30s) lives with her OH, her sister (late 20s) and her OH, her step sister (late 20s) and her girlfriend the parents and the dog all in one house. its bedlam but they have been doing it for several years as it makes the cost of living affordable.
hopefully not renting for much longer (£1150 PCM grotty 2 bed house)i am waiting for exchange on a lovely bright 3 bed house.... and then we are going to have to kick seven bells outta the mortgage (+£1500 pcm) as we have arrived late to the party.0 -

I am 28 and on my own buying a house (north though, god it'd be impossible down South...).
Unlucky in that I've had to pay my way through a lot of education to get my job, and my parents live too far from the city I work in to do the whole "live at home don't pay rent and save" thing
But so lucky and so grateful for inheritance and family boosting my deposit.0
