Bought at 230k a couple of months back with my partner, no help from anyone, I'm 33, she's 26.
  • My partner and I bought last year both at 26. Had both been saving for a deposit so long that a loan of £10k from parents (paid off in 6 months) bought us the entire house mortgage free! Not the best area by a long shot, but was a good compromise. We are still working on the house (rendering still to do) then we are thinking of moving on so somewhere a little more desirable whilst the middle part of market is flat here.

I've decided I am moving by February 2017. 6 Months. I am wasting time for no other reason, I hate where I live now (parents house) and the bottom rung of the ladder will only get more and more expensive if I dont

Left home at 17 but didn't buy until I was 29, you shouldn't feel pressurised into buying by a certain age though.

Buying our first house at the moment, I'm 24 & partner is 25, no help from anyone. Managed to save the money and get out of most debt this year somehow! Living with parents since May though paying minimal rent has helped massively!

First house bought just after we got married at age 29 in 2007 for £172k, stayed there longer than we planned then moved last year to our "forever" house at age 37 for £470k.

I bought my first place 7 years ago when I was 25. A 2 bed mid terrace in Berkshire on Shared equity. As an aside the Shared ownership and equity deals get a lot of bad press on here but as a result and having since bought them out I now have 100k of equity I wouldnt have otherwise and I am now with my partner looking at moving to our long term home.
