Why wouldn't "A1" Condition not apply to where the base stand has been replaced? In all but the latest (2014 onwards) iMacs removing the base stand to replace it can be done by the user with a piece of plastic card, Its only post 2014 iMacs where the stand is internally bolted to the chassis.

If the original stand was damaged, then replacing it with another one would enhance its condition.

Also, pre 2014 iMacs screens are held on by magnets (2014 and beyond are secured using adhesive tape). Its a relative simple job to remove the glass fascia (plenty of youtube videos if need be) to expose the logic board's serial number.

The iMac is a 2011 model.. However I don't want to start messing with it as I haven't a clue what i'm doing! The company have replied to my letter before action stating they now want to send it to the supplier for investigation into whats wrong and the SN.. Which i'm going to have to do or the court would say im not complying with what there offering..

    And so the saga continues....

Because the condition of the machine could have been better. If it's a refurbishment that HASN'T been carried out by the manufacturer (who would have replaced the stand and relabelled it to match the logic board), then it can hardly be described as an A1 refurbished machine. It's B-grade at best.
