How on earth did you guess that?! ;)

I emailed the MD... However it's the customer service leader that actually replies!
I have found that that in dealing with CEOs of other companies that complaints are often passed on to a senior member of the team to deal, but they do usually get dealt with in a more satisfactory manner, as these individuals have more authority to make decisions outside of the norm. I also think the company may have Facebook and Twitter and often posting a comment on there can help speed things up if you don't get a quick remedy. Hope it gets dealt with to your satisfaction.

Thanks, the person I have been in contact with is just trying to avoid everything even when I have written proof from apple.

I'm drafting up a letter before action today. Any tips on what it should include? I've never been in this situation before

    Thanks

Does the letter before action have to go by post? Or could I send it via email?

    Thanks x

Did you read that CAB page I linked to?

    Particularly this bit:
    Sending the letter before action

Keep a copy of your letter and get a proof of posting certificate free from the post office, in case the court asks for proof that you sent the letter.

Yes, which is why I put does it HAVE to go by post. As I don't know whether to address it to the CEO or person I've been talking too

Well you cannot have proof of posting if you don't post it...

    Yes of course you can.

As long as you understand that you obviously won't have any proof of posting... should the need arise. Yes I suppose you could print the email as some sort of proof, but does that actually show that you sent the thing?

Personally, I think that if someone puts a little effort into actually writing a proper letter and taking the trouble to go to a Post Office, then it shows that they are a just a little bit more serious.

    But it's up to you.

I hope you kept the original description of the item as well, as 'A1' condition could hardly apply to an item where the serial number on the base of the upstand doesn't match the serial number of the logic board.
