Also, if I may add another issue. If we buy as a business we ourselves have less protection than we would if we were buying as an individual.

Whether overall that is going to make a difference I'm not sure, but it is worth considering.

Yes, I had not thought of that. Maybe the 'offer' retailers will become wise over a period of time - people purchasing more than two or three of an item, and when warranty time comes around, check the number of units purchased.....more than three deemed a business purchase....up to purchaser to prove otherwise.

Perhaps for a few items here and there it wouldn't matter, but if you based your business model on it, well an entirely different proposal.

Thanks for all the responses to my original question, I am applying for my seller account at the moment, I have just one more question to ask on this subject...

...On reading all the advertising blurb of Profit Sourcery, if I have understood them correctly, I was quite surprised to learn that the products they put forward seemed to be sourced from ordinary retail concerns. I have been concentrating my research on wholesalers as I assume they would be more reliable for any particular FBA campaign, my question being:

Is the Profit Sourcery arbitrage model, in general, viable I mean do you as experienced guys do this or should I keep concentrating on the wholesale method?

I hope this makes sense! Thank you for your advice.

IMO you should work out what is best for you. Some people like the 'fun' of finding new deals on a regular basis and making money from selling on their bargains, others like the regular price, regular stock approach of wholesalers.

Try both, work out what you prefer.

Wholesalers don't always have the lowest prices, plus some will not trade with newcomers, and you'll have to build up your buying power and trade references as you go.

I found some definite bargains using PS, although some were out of stock. I also found it useful as a pointer as to what may be currently a popular seller.

The information they provide is available in the public domain, I guess the trick is putting it all together, and knowing your retailers.

In the longer term, I would say buying from retailers as a business, for reselling to the public is not a good business model - for all of the reasons in this thread......
