you did nothing for me. you're stating facts after i already posted them earlier. why would that be helpful. make sure you can read those road signs while you're driving to work or even see whats in front of you. you sure can't read forums very well. maybe you should declare some medical information about yourself.
Glad you took my advice.
Feel better? Any more?0 -
EON the insults is going a little too far, the people here not only frequent this sub forum but allot of other sub forums like techy boards and such, youll do yourself no favors by insulting us here as you may need assistance in other thread and sub category forums in the future and many here remember those who insult them better than the threads that go with without incident in them.
some read the OP (Original Post) and a few replies from others and not wanting to read and run offer up what they think could assist in the short period that they have to reply to the thread before having to rush off back to reality and do life things that need doing before coming back later to check the thread, people also think what they mean and post a different thing such as the form numbers you had a go at custard( OUR forum guide!!) for, it wasn't intentional and an honest mistake we can all make.
Draw a line a under posting persona of having attitude, it doesn't bode well here, in that many will simply ignore you and in any future threads you need assistance with. I think a lot members have been patient with your attitude and some have even tried offering you advice ignoring the attitude persona you've taken on, it maybe repeated like I said some don't like to read a run and that part was missed.0 -
...my photocard driving licence had expired. In a call to the DVLA to enquire about renewing it...
It's only the pic that expires, not the driving license. If you were diagnosed with a condition that may affect your driving ability, you would be told a that time and would inform the DVLA without delay, not randomly up to 10 years later when you renew your driving license.0 -
Consultant, his boss and Doctor cutting his teeth don't add up.
You don't come out of med school as a consultant.
I'm guessing you haven't been near an NHS "consultant led" clinic lately?
You get referred to the consultant but, when you turn up, you may be seen by the consultant or any of the "consultant wannabe's" that happen to be on his staff at the time to gain experience in the field. As te man said, they've got to cut their teeth somewhere.
In some cases it may not even be the same wannabe each time, and they're unlikely to have had the time / inclination to read and digest your notes before you enter the room.
OP, listen to atrixblue. Whatever your eventual diagnosis is, adding a complaints procedure to your daily worries won't help you in the long run. I have a number of friends with similar difficulties and, as you commented earlier, one of the biggest problems they face day to day is the tendency to get "locked in" to things at an almost obsessional level.
Some of them handle that badly and can be a complete PITA to be around at times as a result, some have learnt to use it in a positive way by "locking in" to the bits that really matter at the time - sometimes asking advice from those around them (that they trust) about which those important bits are. The people to value around you are those who, once they know of the problem, accept this and other behavioural "anomalies" with patience and a smile while not pretending that they don't exist.
Similar applies to your posting here.
So far, your apparent aggression / insults to some people are understandable given your situation and are pretty obviously borne from frustration at the situation and their apparent lack of understanding of (a) your condition and (b) what you're trying to say.
Unfortunately, some people simply won't (through choice or inability) understand these things and no amount of getting frustrated with them will change that - in fact, it'll just reinforce their views. That's entirely a problem with them, not you. But how you deal with / react to them IS your problem - better to ignore them if you possibly can, or simply repeat your point politely if you really can't.
A small practical point - there's actually no offence of having a car without MOT on the road, the offence is to "use" it with no MOT. The courts have given fairly contradictory rulings in the past about what "use" means in terms of MOT, and it doesn't always agree with the definition used for tax or insurance.
So you won't necessarily have a problem keeping it as it is if you need to, even if it gets reported (which is unlikely) - in your situation you'd have a good chance of defending it even if charged. But it'd be better to get it MOTd if you can just to lift another worry off you0 -
I am indeed sorry for the attitude I had yesterday - it is a clear indication that I have issues with stress and aggression that is currently beyond my control. I'm sure only some people here will understand this, but that's life I guess. It was my desire for an absolute answer from the DVLA that had me on edge and waiting more than 7 days for a letter on top of all the time this has taken (although that is entirely the fault of the DVLA).
I just didn't expect to have my request for help and guidance dissected or parts of it treated with suspicion or a lack of understanding when all the relevant facts were there already. I can't account for peoples lack of knowledge about medical conditions or the healthcare system, or my current ability to work and be self sufficient. I also think it's quite important to read things carefully before posting 'answers', when questions are already answered. Many times on forums, it's more about the attitude of posts than the content (which of course makes me a hypocrite!)
I apologise to everyone I was short tempered with and thanks for your time.

Thank you! My mother taught me well - it certainly wasn't my school! Unfortunately quality goes out of the window once I start losing control (no capitals and a lack of care). Angry posts on this thread show that.0 -

This is where I thought I had been mislead a little.
Keep in mind I was applying to 'renew' and at the same time the medical enquiry was started. Two letters arrived, together.
One letter sent, states, "This means that your application for a driving licence must be refused."
Whilst the second states that "your Group 1 (car or motorcycle) driving licence has been refused or revoked", (revoked is the word used on the phone by them), it continues further on, "The law prohibits the issue of a licence to those suffering from drug misuse or dependence."
So I am a little confused, but have also come to accept that they can say things without definition, such as the word 'persistent', as I previously mentioned. Persistent could mean once a day, once a week, once a month, etc, depending on who interprets it.0 -

Why run the risk of leaving the car on a road if the use is subjective? Park it in another public place that is not a road.0
