No one is that powerful or well connected that they can carry on as if they are above the law and get away with it. Have you sought legal advice on this? That would be my next step. The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0

Thanks to all who've replied so far. The catering idea is actually a good one, and I'll look into it.
Marisco - I haven't sought legal advice because there's no way I can prove any of this, and I doubt the police would be very interested.
Any more suggestions welcome...0 -
What organisation do you currently work in, or what is the business of the organisation? It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Does anyone have thoughts about the wisdom of moving somewhere with a good jobs market, paying six months' rent in advance for a house share and then trying to find work? There's nothing keeping me here...
Just do it.
Leave the country, start again in any job you can get, get your life back and then think about building a new career,
You say you have savings, you have no ties, you have a good education, don't let your lack of experience in any other field other than the one you are currently working in put you off. People make drastic career changes work if they really want to.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
I presume you'd get a good inheritance if they had an 'accident'?0

Assuming that this post is for real, which is difficult to believe, is there a cult or cult-like organisation in the case?Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

Cut & run. Unless they're tracking your National Insurance number (which is seriously iffy) you can move anywhere & study, get a job, volunteer - make your own choices.
Pity about the Forces, but if you're serious about Anything, then cruise ship vacancies? Trying to keep demanding folks happy sounds like you'd make a good Purser's apprentice, or holiday rep... Which would employ you, feed you, house you & keep you well out of their range for a while.
Catering will certainly grab you - you can stand, sit, obey orders & have a pulse. If you wash your hands without being prompted too? I don't envy your back or feet after a few months, but good insoles have always been a shrewd investment.
Get out from under, get a bit of solid distance in place & see what happens. Very best of luck!0 -
