Try arguing the toss with someone pointing what maybe a fake gun in your face.
I'm sure you would hand over your last penny!
For goodness sake.. what on earth does that have to do with someone possibly using the OP details to make a claim for a crisis loan ?0 -

That's as maybe (not to mention a fairly odd response) but I don't think the source of that £5 is relevant to it's value when used to try to obtain convincing looking ID documents and/or the services of expert hackers.
Are you related to Henry Root?

That's not entirely true.
Crisis loans were done over the phone and paid into your bank account in 2012. No ID needed at all.
You just needed a NI number with name, DOB and current address.
No forms to fill in and you did not have to be claiming benefits to get one.
Trust me I know I have comitted benefit fraud several times and never been caught
Not been caught YET. These things can catch up with you years after the event.0 -
You need to contact the DWP with a subject access request
https://ico.org.uk/for-the-public/personal-information/
Normally there is a charge for this but the DWP cannot charge you and have to comply with data protection law.
They should be able to give you all the info you need, copies of forms with your signature or letter they sent you about the loans.
Write and tell them this is what you want the link will help
edit this is the link from the dwp which might be better

There is no need to steal ID as you dont go into the jobcentre to get a loan. ID is only needed for face to face meets. What part of that don't you understand?
When crisis loans were being issued you only needed personal details and a account number and sort code.
NO they can't instantly check if the account belongs to the person claiming the loan. Not even the police can do that it's against the law.
A warrant is needed for that!
No one stole your ID. They just needed your details0 -
You're missing the point again. There is no need to steal ID as you dont go into the jobcentre to get a loan. ID is only needed for face to face meets. What part of that don't you understand?
Identity is not just a document, it's also information.
You do not simply give name, nino and bank account details and, hey presto, there's money in the bank account or a giro waiting for you in the office.
You have to give details of the sort that would only be known to the individual you claim to be. Hence stealing their identity.0 -

Really feel your pain on this. If it's anything like our experience then it's a nightmare.
My husband had two Crisis loans taken out fraudulently in 2003. When he was told about it he contacted DWP and the police and the DWP were given a crime reference number and informed it was fraud.
The Job center then handed out an additional three loans within days of each other over different locations of London in 2005
Cutting a long story short....Every couple of years the DWP chased and they were told time after time it was fraud and then given the crime reference number.
Last week the DWP wrote to my husbands work and just had £300 taken from his wages, leaving us in massive financial difficulty.
Not once have they ever attempted to prove it was him, so asked for a proof of signature or copy of a passport. They ignore it every time. Every department blames the other, they never call back and we are desperate for the money back.......I mean we cannot feed our children and I am not joking.
We are seeking legal advice and speaking to our MP....It's a joke really!!0
