Manchester Airport, anywhere to eat before security

We are flying from Manchester T1 in August (Teenage daughter and me) and have booked to stay in the Radisson Blu overnight as we have an early flight. I have been looking at the menu for the Radisson and it's a bit posh, very expensive and there doesn't seem to be anything on there that I would fancy, unless I pay £17 for Cod and Chips  Is there anywhere else on the airport we could eat that does more everyday food? I won't have the car so really looking for somewhere we can walk to and from, even a McDonalds or Burger King would do.
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world

There is a Greggs, Joe's Kitchen and Spud Factory in T1 on ground floor level at check-in so this is pre-security. Not sure how far it is from your hotel.
There is tons of stuff at departures but not sure whether it is all past security.0 -

Yep, clocked those, really looking for more in the way of a meal though, as you say everything seems to be after security, just wondering if any of the other hotels offer something a little more down to earth, don't mind a 10-15 min walk. The problem is it will have been a long day, I've got to drive from Didcot to Prestatyn to drop the Mrs off at her mothers then from there to Manchester, after all that, it would be nice to sit down to a meal and a couple of pints.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -
You could get the tram to Wythenshawe Town Centre which is only a few stops from the airport. Bound to find loads of places to eat there.0

Cheers, was hoping to find somewhere on the airport if poss as it will be early evening when we arrive, by the time we get checked in to the hotel, freshen up then drop our bags off (hopefully) it will getting a bit late.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -

There is a pub called The Airport Pub about a 20 minute walk from your hotel. Perfect for food and pints!0 -
other than the three places mentioned above there is a cafe nero in T2 arrivals and that is it
if you are not happy with the offerings at the radisson then you will have to go off airport
from T1 you can walk across to Bewleys, the hilton and the Crown plaza but similar to the radisson they are airport hotels catering to a captive audience
somebody mentioned the airport hotel above and as said it is a twenty to thirty minute walk from the radisson, it has recently undergone renovation and i have not been there since it was reopened
it is a robinsons pub and info can be found here
www.airport.pub/gallery
other than that you would have to go further off airport by tram, train or bus as mentioned above, my choice would be a train to heald green train every 20-30 minutes and cost under £2.00 off peak return
at heald green you have a harvester a hungry horse lots of local shops and takeaways
manchester airport is very poor for selection of food and drink before security at all terminals0 -
I think Bewleys is looking favourite, looks like they do more ordinary pub food in their bar menu and a lot cheaper than the Radisson.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0

if you are going to bewleys you are best taking the covered walkway to terminal one and then leave the airport from there and head across the road towards bewleys
if you try and go from the radisson it is difficult to get across the dual carriageway that brings traffic in to T1 and T30 -

I was going to suggest Bewleys as we ate there when we were staying before our honeymoon and food was excellent (that was 9 years ago though!)0 -
Could you order a takeaway to be delivered to eat in your room?0
