Our Glorious Leader marmite will do the formalities and add you to the front page, in the meantime grab an egg sandwich and some of Mrs Doyle's cake before it all goes.
Don't mind Igor..he's our very eager sous chef, chief bottle washer, part time nurse and owner of a wicked pair of sexy knees (that make women swoon and men turn green with envy).0 -

Well I'm not going to make my May target, but it was my first go and I think I was being too harsh on myself. So I've tweaked my rules and I will once again aim for 10Declutter our home in 2024

It's a start, Seaotter, and it's all about cutting down the frivolous, mindless spending. When I joined this challenge a few years ago I did well to get 10 NSDs a month. Now I get between 15 and 18. I try to plan food shopping for days when I have direct debits coming out of my account, and I draw out cash for things like hairdresser, Ringtons Tea man and reflexology all in one transaction. That means the day I pay out for these things can be classed as a NSD because the spend was counted on the day the cash was drawn out. It is all about planning your week/month expenditure, meal planning, taking food to work with you, not buying something when you have as something that will do the job at home, things like that.
Yesterday I gave in to the temptation of a coffee shop coffee and a couple of biscuits - cost £2.70!!!!!! It was nowhere near as good as the proper coffee I make at home with my espresso machine (Christmas present last year), using freshly ground beans (£1.89 for 200gms from Aldi) and home made biscuits. A cup of the home made stuff plus a couple of home made biscuits probably costs less than 20pence, the biscuits costing more than the coffee because I use real butter to make them.
Making your own food at home means you know what is in it and you get used to better quality stuff, so when you buy something commercially made it can be an expensive disappointment.
Who says you have to live a pauper' s life to be MSE?
So, roll on June, and let's get NSD hunting! One life - your life - live it!0 -

Seaotter you're selling yourself short and holding out on me: you've declared 7
nsds, but your sig says you've got 8!
Naughty Seaotter!
Now,the great thing about this challenge (sorry, one of the great things,Hubert in a pink frock being the greatest) is that you decide the rules. So,if you feel it's not working, you're being too rigid, you can change them. So,good for you for tweaking them.
So,you might not reach your target this month;it's ok.You've still done really well.Nargleblast wrote: »It's a start, Seaotter, and it's all about cutting down the frivolous, mindless spending. I've been caught out erm... Cheating!
I thought yesterday was an NSD so changed my sig, was about to post then remembered the tank full of petrol, since my husband took my car and left me his WITH NO PETROL FOR ME TO GET TO WORK AND BACK!!!
But I think I'll manage to be non - spendy tomorrow, so I didn't change it back.
Changes for next month for me - prescriptions and medication don't count, and neither do fuel! I'd have had an extra 3 this month, but I was trying to keep the rules for the whole month.Declutter our home in 2024
