As the title says, I am looking to reject my Blue GT which I've had for two and half months for numerous problems encountered with the vehicle since I've received it. They've had a few chances to resolve the problems but I'm just told 'it's the car'.

I then speak to another dealer local to me who advise I MAY be charged £138 for each issue of its not covered under warrantee or they can't find a fault!

Does anyone have any experience of this and how hard/complicated it is to do?

I've spoken to VW customer service who said I have to put it in writing to the finance company (also VW) as they own the vehicle (it's on PCP). Thanks in advance

Under SOGA you can reject an item within a"reasonable time" Difficult to say whether 2months+ is reasonable., also likely that the mileage you have put on clock would be taken into consideration.

How long had you had the car when first fault developed? did you take it back straightaway?

You mentioned that the fault may not be covered by warranty, does this mean it was a second hand car, if so what kind of warranty did you get?

Do write to VW if it is a new car, I had problems with a new golf years ago and VW head office was very helpful, ended up with the fault fixed and a free service for the trouble.

    Hello

    Thanks for the replies everyone...

The car is brand new to me, purchased in March, 15 plate with 1350 miles on it...

    Issues I have had are:

Grinding feeling when the clutch is disengaged - not resolved - dealer advised they could not replicate the fault
Whirring noise from driver side dash board - not resolved - dealer advised its fuel pump/pinking
Fans making a flapping noise when on number two or more - not resolved - dealer said this is 'just the car' - strangely this didn't exist until the dealer replaced a part trying to fix one of the issues above
Rear wiper faulty, not touching the window at very end of blade - resolved
SD Card Error - SD Cards unable to be read on infotainment system - unresolved - dealer advised to buy 16gb card, even though supports up to 64gb

On a side note, the car is VERY prone to scratching, like massive amounts of it since i got it. I know this can't be put on the dealer, however there does seem to be a high amount of them in strange places.

The original grinding was found after approx 1 month, took in to dealer advised me it was a high performance clutch so I could feel vibrations

Whirring noise has been there as long as i can remember, advised garage after two months when it went in for the clutch

Fans - this only occurred after dealer tried to fix problems with whirring noise (they ere trying to diagnose a noise that I couldn't really hear and didn't car about).

I think this covers all he questions, anything else please ask

Oh, I would expect the warranty to cover 99% of the car, obviously taking out tires etc, as it is so new and so little miles!

Hi all, bought a brand new VW Polo today (well I picked it up), popped to the shops tonight, got home and there was a strong burning engine smell, so walked back over to the car and the smell was definitely coming from that.

Probably just being a bit paranoid after spending so much money, but is this normal? I.e any excess oil being burnt off perhaps, or maybe just getting 'worn in'?

    Thanks all

    didnt you ?

Different issue, smell went shortly after. Don't assume stuff :p

Didn't say there was a funny noise though!

Have you mentioned rejecting car to the dealer?

I would go back to them telling them you are giving them one last chance to fix problems and that if it is not done then you will reject car. Put this in writing to them and copy in your finance company and VW HQ,

The whining sound may just be a fuel primer pump. Used to own bother a 1997 Astra diesel and (later) a 2004 Zafira diesel. When I turned the ignition on, there was a distinctive whining from under the bonnet. It was just the fuel pump priming before I started the engine.

My dad has a 2005 Astra petrol and this does exactley the same.
