How much can i earn before i lose any housing benefit

Hi there,
I am long term unemployed due to mental health issues and am 57 years of age. I go for medicals every so often and get put into something called (is it a work related activity group?). Initially I used to go and see someone every month or so at the JC but after a reasonably short while they realised that I was not up to the task and have not been for what seems like years.
Anyway I have just a received post work programme appointment letter. After having read the horror stories of what this might entail for me on the internet (I just will not be able to attend) and the fact that my benefits will no doubt be sanctioned a friend has come up with an idea.
He works in a business where he employs people who work from home. I believe with his initial support I could do this work.
I am on full housing benefit of £850 per month and I live in Lewisham.
My question is: If he did employ me would I be able to completely detach my self from the JC (what they are going to want me to do utterly scares me) and if so how much would I be able to earn from him before that effected my housing benefit ?
Also, what other payments would I be liable for ?
Ty in advance

What an unusual question. Surely losing a bit of housing benefit doesn't matter when you will be earning money? Or is this all purely a way to get out of job centre requirements, earn a pittance and maximise benefits? If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0

Ah cheers mate ty for looking up my last post and putting my mind to rest

I type ok but am not too good forum searches.
So basically I can tell the DWP to stuff themselves and be free from them forever and become another one off the unemployed list..
Thanks again0 -
Bring on Universal Credit

Well, the way I write in no way reflects how I can operate in the real world and what might be small amounts to you are very large to me, the same goes for physical activity.
And may I add what an unusual question from you, what business is it of yours ?0 -
