Huge well done on getting done to one creditor :T Plus I love your 'experience theory', I agree much more rewarding than buying stuffPay off Car Loan £17,047 £10580 by Christmas 2022

Thanks Skinnylatte
I started reading your diary last night - you are AMAZING and I wish you were my next door neighbour lol
Cancelled my DD with Stepchange and set up my standing order to send the payment straight to Hitachi Capital. I must admit that I felt a bit scared for a few minutes and pondered whether I am doing the right thing but SC said that I could always give them a call if I needed them. HC were awful when I first started by DMP, I think I have said before that I don't know whether financial institutions have had to rein it in a bit or if I have just been lucky recently but the guy I spoke to was really helpful and friendly?! I double checked that they wouldn't start charging interest as my payments are increasing and he ACTUALLY said "why would we penalise you for paying back more". I salute you and thank you Mr Whateveryournameis at HC!
My credit card arrived today. These companies are so sneaky. When I applied for the card I was given a £500 limit that I downgraded to £200 (I am never going to spend more than £200 on petrol in one month). I set up an online account so that I could keep track easily and on there it said that I have a £500 limit. When my card arrived it said that I have a £1,000 limit. This card is specifically aimed at people trying to rebuild their credit history. My score on Noddle is 1/5 and quite rightly so. These companies should be ashamed of themselves. I am 100% determined that they aren't going to get ANY money from me in charges/ interest
In other news, NSD today :j Lots of tidying and sorting planned for the weekend, need to drop another bag of bits off at the charity shop and bosh a few more things on eBay. I need to give the kitchen a quick paint too but not sure that is going to happen this weekend - I have got paint and rollers etc from last time it was done but if the weather is nice then I am going to be outside making the most of it :cool:0 -
Just re-read yesterday's post and really hoping that your neighbour doesn't get a mention anywhere in your diary which would make my comment seem really weird Skinnylatte lol!
NIce day mooching round at home today; have listed another five things on eBay, done and line dried all my washing, hoovered and tidied, had meatballs and spaghetti for tea which was fab, caught up on a bit of work and tried on everything in my "work" wardrobe and put a fair few things to one side for the charity shop/ eBay. Have done some de-hairing - I really hope they invent an easier form of hair control in my lifetime, it's such a pain in the bum!
Going to watch a few episodes on Netflix with a random can of lager that has been in my fridge for god knows how long!0 -
Aaaw nice words
just catching up, can't sleep!
Dehairing what?? The mind boggles. did I miss something in an earlier post?? :rotfl:
I'd be getting in touch with the CC peeps and demand they lower your credit limit to £200, they will have to do that if you ask them I think.
Hope you've had a good weekPay off Car Loan £17,047 £10580 by Christmas 2022

Insomnia is a lady dog Skinnylatte, hope you managed to catch up on some sleep!
De-hairing arms, underarms, legs, face - it's a random combination of waxing, epilating and shaving; painful, boring but necessary unfortunately!!
The credit card limit has been reduced, cheeky blighters.
Had a bit of a manic week last week; work was really busy and will probably be the same next week too. I'm feeling a bit bored/ unmotivated at the moment and am thinking it might be time to move on to pastures new. I'm not going to make any hasty decisions though (been there and done that!), I just kind of feel a bit like I'm wasting my life waiting for something exciting to happen? On one hand I think I should sit tight until all my debt is paid off as then I could take a job that pays slightly less if necessary but on the other hand I think that life's too short. I just don't know - being a grown up is just exhausting sometimes!0 -
Been in the worst mood ever today for absolutely no reason whatsoever
Will be a NSD tomorrow, was almost one today but I wanted to get a bottle of Nivea (the ye olde blue bottle) as my legs are really dry and nothing else seems to fix them.
It's that boooooring week before pay day again. That said, it seems to have come around really quickly this month which is a good thing!
Quite proud of some siliconing I did earlier this evening, never tried it before but it's really not that hard at all if you use about three miles of masking tape. They hadn't finished off where the tiles meet the wall properly (it's a rented house) and it has irritated me ever so slightly since I moved in so decided to bite the bullet and sort it considering I bought the silicone, gun and tape about 18 months ago!
Off to do a yoga DVD as trying to get a bit bendier :j0 -
Feeling a bit impatient at the moment
Really pleased to now be below £9k but it feels like I don't have any money saving opportunities on the horizon! All my insurance/ utility renewals are later on in the year, everything electrical is turned off at the plug when not in use, try to only buy food when it's actually needed instead of hoarding stuff, my wardrobe is a lot smaller than it was with all the stuff I don't wear having being sold/ given to charity, my toiletries and make up stash is reducing etc etc etc I just feel like I am in the middle of a marathon and I'm bored of running!
One thing that I do spend a fair bit of money on each month is my gym membership and I often toy with reducing it but I do use and enjoy it (usually five times a week) so I just can't bring myself to reduce it even though I know I could do something free a few times a week (like running or work out at home) but I just don't want to! I'm quite lucky in that I do some occasional self-employed work so I use that money for the gym membership, if that work ever stopped then I would have to cancel the gym membership I guess.
Managed to make the extra £50 this month on Ebay this month so that has been used as an overpayment off the last debt
The credit card worked well for petrol, I left it at home apart from on Fridays when I used it to fill up and then my direct debit went out the day after pay day - hopefully it should show on my credit report next month so I will be able to see what difference it is making (if anything).
Off for a shower then PJs and a film I think - I'm such a party animal NAAAAAHHHHHTTTTT!0
