the OP in post one , the exact words used were
"I called sofaworks to find out what I could do and after the guy spoke to head office he called me back to say there was nothing they could do and that they'd never heard of this happening before
that I would say is a denial that they had heard or not heard of a problem with chemicals (DMF) being used or had been used in leather sofas being supplied by companies for sale in the UK in there lifetime!0 -

It is a denial that they have heard of anyone getting burns from one of their sofas. I can't find any public reports of Sofaworks having this problem - perhaps you can?0 -

So we only have the word of the cs assistant that they spoke to head office at all?0 -
Given the time since the previous issue and that Sofaworks/ CSL were not one of the affected companies, it is quite reasonable that a customer service rep would not have heard about it. What the OP should do now is make them aware of the previous issue with some imported sofas, and report this to the CAB consumer advice line so they can monitor for further reports - if the problem is similar, it will not just be the OP affected. They should of course seek medical attention for their 'burns'.
however with sofaworks non deliveries , and the amount of different stock they have , it could be months before CAB received even a handful of complaints ,
this needs addressing locally via doctor/hospital and then referral to specialist , in order to assist those , it should be stated that there is a possibility of DMF, as this will reduce the time searching for the antidote , and cure0 -

going around in big circles here , the OP has stated the affects after receiving the sofa , it is known that the chineese do not give a monkeys about EU laws , sofaworks cut down on price paid ,
I would not put it past the pair of them to go "la la" when profit is concerned0 -

Good old diagnosis by Google :rotfl:
Sofaworks sell thousands of sofas each week. As above, how many reports of this have you found relating to their products?0
